That imo all changes now they start calling the new CLK the E-class coupé. The average Joe will never know it's really a C-class with lipstick.
The 3 class has gone crazy on it's pricing. I've got an 07 335 sedan on my lot that stickered at $50k. That's nuts. This only makes it easier on MB to get top dollar on the CLK.
And people will know that the E-coupe is really a C-coupe on steroids. People are a lot more savvy with the internet. I am amazed at what some of my customers know from searching the web. But I think it is OK, because the C platform lends itself to better agility, which fits a coupe. Plus, looking at the spy photos you can see a plethora of differences in the CLK and the C. The previous CLK and C were so similar that if you remember, the C55 shared the entire front sheetmetal with the CLK. This time there will be no shared sheetmetal in any configuration, plus unique dash and materials. So, I think the CLK/E-coupe will do just fine. The last CLK was so lacking in macho. This one will do much better. And with the outrageous pricing of the 335, it will open the CLK coupe to many other prospects.
That depends on the market. But in many markets that is true.In general MBs are more expensive than bimmers.

For the last time, the chassis doesn't determine the car.
We'll see what happens. I just think an E coupé should really be just that. Not a C coupé.

No, but it's a gigantic part of the car, and things like the electrical sytems and high tech will probably all come straight from the C-class as well.

That CAR magazine rendering looks very familiar, has it been posted before?![]()
E63 and CLK63 getting only 480hp??? That can't be right at all.
