We used to have S400 and E400 in 2017 Middle east models, they are V6 engines of course, changing the name to S450 makes me almost sure that it will be in-line 6, otherwise it should have stayed S400. I hope that I'm right on this one

That depends. There are some sources that the US market will get the V6 367hp engine which is basically the same engine found currently in the middle east but tuned for more hp. This model might be named S450 in the US .

I'm looking especially forward to see the Maybach S-Class FL, it would be interesting to see wether they introduce more personalisation options and how the design updates look on this car..but S 680 name sounds very exclusive indeed..

For me it sounds bad. Why would you degrade name like 600 with some 680s?
Mercedes is really making a mess with names, looks like they really can't decide what to do today and what to do tomorrow.

How do they always get it SO right with the S-Class...
If only this was the case with the rest of their line-up.
I love the new headlight design!
Surprisingly the new steering wheel(it's amazing) doesn't look as out of place as I originally thought it would.
The new I6 engines coupled with 9G will elevate this car even closer to perfection.

What will happen to the non-Maybach S600? The grill used to differentiate the S600 externally from the others. Now it seems that all the cars will have the same grill. It seems to have almost gotten lost after the S600 Maybach was released. Perhaps they will change the Maybach to S680 and keep the S600 for the non-Maybach S class.
