GLE [Spyshots] 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe

The Mercedes-Benz GLE, formerly Mercedes-Benz M-Class (designated with the "ML" nomenclature), is a mid-size luxury SUV produced by the German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz since 1997. In terms of size, it is slotted in between the smaller GLC and the larger GLS, the latter with which it shares platforms.
New AMG GT?

To me it looks like that Vision-something concept for the Gran Turismo game...

EDIT: Merc1 was few seconds faster than me:)

MLC thrashing around the ring. Surprised to see minimal body roll

In the U.S. this should only use the upscale motors IMO. Hopefully we will get a MLC 450 with 362hp and a MLC 550 with 449hp. Then the MLC 63 AMG with 577hp. It won't sell in big numbers anyway, so might as well make the most profit off of each one sold.

definitely not my cup of tea ....i prefer full size all new G Class than a fat posh SUV trying too hard to be a coupe

Might thus be more suitable for its alleged Mercedes Maybach version, perhaps? ;)

I do not like the design treatment on the 3rd window and D-Pillar.
I am going to hold back judgments until it is fully uncovered.

Mercedes MLC SUV caught testing in the Death Valley

The Mercedes MLC was spotted testing in the Death Valley, U.S.A., by Auto Plus reader Philippe. Based on the M Class’s platform, Mercedes previewed the design of the MLC in the form of the Concept Coupe SUV which was shown this year at the Beijing Motor Show.

The MLC was previewed by the Concept Coupe SUV earlier this year.

Apart from featuring LED headlights and taillights, the concept measured about 5 meters in length, 1.75 meters in height and 2 meters in width. The dimensions of the MLC are expected to be in the ballpark.

Power for the X6 rival would come from four- and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, all matched to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox or possibly even the new 9-speed single-clutch transmission.

The MLC will launch in Europe sometime next year. If Mercedes decide to introduce the MLC in India, the launch could take place sometime in late 2015 or early 2016. The SUV will first enter production at Mercedes’ Tuscaloosa plant in the United States.

Suspect the name is still unconfirmed at present? Is there still a chance it may be called GLS, as the title suggests? A CLS Geländewagen, perhaps? :)

"Mercedes-Benz is set to extend its line-up of dedicated SUVs with a new BMW X6-rivalling model called the GLS, according to highly placed sources at the German car maker." http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/merc-cls-suv-aims-x6

Well that makes no sense. It's based on an ML and will be called a GLS.
At least BMW and Audi have avoided this crazy alphabet soup of nomenclatures that Mercedes has dug itself into. Getting ridiculous.

Although "ML-Coupe" doesn't make much sense because this has got absolutely no business being called a "coupe", any more than an X6 has got any business being called a "Sport" anything.
