B-Class [Spyshots] 2016 Mercedes-Benz B-Class Facelift SpyShots

The Mercedes-Benz B-Class is a subcompact executive car manufactured and marketed by Mercedes-Benz since 2005. Based on the A-Class with larger dimensions, the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) classifies it as a small MPV.

The first prototypes for a facelifted B-Class have been spotted.

Since the current model, the second generation of the compact MPV, already comes packed with a decent bit of kit, including dual-clutch transmissions, alternative powertrains and an advanced user interface, we suspect there will be few major upgrades on this model.

For the exterior, look for a new grille and bumper combo, with styling made similar to that seen on the rest of the Mercedes range, particularly on the latest compact offerings such as the CLA and GLA. The headlights are also new and the rear diffuser and exhaust pipe design now matches that seen on prototypes for the next-generation C-Class.

The facelifted B-Class is expected to be revealed in late 2015, most likely at the Frankfurt Auto Show in Germany.

The facelift is expected in September at the Paris Auto Show. Should receive an update to the NTG 5.0 COMAND, like the S-Class (W222), S-Class Coupe (C217) and C-Class (W205). :)

Mercedes-Benz B-Class Facelift Shows Us Its Taillights

While previous pre-prototypes of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz B-Class (W246) facelift clearly showed us that its taillights will have a similar outline but a different interior design, the following spy shots will finally put the mysteries regarding their design to rest.

Despite being rather blurry because of the distance it was taken from, one of the images shows a completely non-camouflaged taillight, so our speculation about the repositioning of the turning signals was apparently true.

There aren't any information leaks regarding when the facelifted B-Class will actually be launched, but we have a strong feeling that we should see it at or around the 2014 edition of the Paris Motor Show, which would make the date approximately three years after the second generation of the model was launched.

Design-wise, we shouldn't see too many differences at the rear, with the exception of the slightly-redesigned taillights and the new bumper with integrated exhaust tips, while the side will remain largely the same.

The front end, on the other hand, will be quite a bit more different, with a more upright engine grille to be flanked by all-new headlights and a redesigned front bumper.

Its interior will get an updated Comand Online system and (maybe) optional head-up display, while the newly-introduced touchpad controller might arrive on the refreshed compact MPV as well.

Engine-wise, the B-Class W246 facelift might get a new 1.6-liter diesel four-cylinder sourced from Renault, with the efficient powerplant to be found under the hood of the B 180 CDI and B 200 CDI.

If that happens, the CDI moniker would also be replaced with BlueTec, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet about this subject. Stay tuned for more info about Germany's best-selling MPV in the upcoming months, as it nears its launch date and prepares to take on the newly-unveiled BMW 2 Series GT.

But why have they covered the radio and the box in the middle?
And the steering wheel?
And the instrument?

Something must be new. AMG interior?

The 2015 Mercedes B-Class has been spied wearing less camouflage than ever before.

Looking virtually identical to its predecessor, the facelift model appears to adopt a new front bumper and a revised grille. Moving further back, we can see restyled taillights and a new dual exhaust system that is better integrated into the rear bumper.

The cabin largely carries over but the camouflage suggests there could be a new steering wheel and revised switchgear.

Engine options will likely include the usual suspects but there could be some minor modifications for improved performance and reduced fuel consumption.

The facelifted B-Class could be introduced later this year, so look for a possible debut at the Paris Motor Show.

Will feature revised styling and an upgraded interior
It's been awhile since we heard about the 2015 Mercedes B-Class but one the company's media partners has just confirmed the model will be introduced shortly.

Details are limited but a teaser video will be released on September 12th. This suggests the facelifted model will debut at the Paris Motor Show in October.

As we have previously reported, the 2015 B-Class will adopt a new front bumper and a revised grille. Previous spy photos have also shown restyled taillights and a new dual exhaust system that is better integrated into the rear bumper. Additional changes are limited but the cabin will feature a new steering wheel and revised switchgear - among other things.
