Mercedes MLC SUV caught testing in the Death Valley
The Mercedes MLC was spotted testing in the Death Valley, U.S.A., by Auto Plus reader Philippe. Based on the M Class’s platform, Mercedes previewed the design of the MLC in the form of the Concept Coupe SUV which was shown this year at the Beijing Motor Show.
The MLC was previewed by the Concept Coupe SUV earlier this year.
Apart from featuring LED headlights and taillights, the concept measured about 5 meters in length, 1.75 meters in height and 2 meters in width. The dimensions of the MLC are expected to be in the ballpark.
Power for the X6 rival would come from four- and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, all matched to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox or possibly even the new 9-speed single-clutch transmission.

The MLC will launch in Europe sometime next year. If Mercedes decide to introduce the MLC in India, the launch could take place sometime in late 2015 or early 2016. The SUV will first enter production at Mercedes’ Tuscaloosa plant in the United States.
