C-Class [Spyshots] 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe (C205) - Spy Pics & Info

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a series of compact executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 190 (W201) range, the C-Class was the smallest model in the marque's line-up until the W168 A-Class arrived in 1997.
^ Looks great, could it be the real thing? Don't really understand why it would be photographed with a mustang... o_O

I love the car, so don't get me wrong, but it would be great advertising by Ford to say that it's nothing more than a dolled up mustang?

It's looking fantastic, the shoulder line adds gives it a much sportier look to the sedan and the rear will look great

On that AutoBild's photo looks stunning:

It should be close to a real car.. Any news when it will be revealed?

Why in the world would Ford admit design inferiority?

Inferiority at 1/3 the price is a given, isn't it? Having the two cars associated and mentioned together is a benefit to the lesser car. Many dream of C-class coupes on Mustang budgets, wouldn't hurt to play to those dreams.

Of course my statement was purely theoretical, not implying that this is in fact an official Ford job.

Mercedes designer says he insisted to create a sportier, lower C-Class Coupe

Mercedes-Benz designer Gorden Wagener says he had to fight hard to get what he wanted: a sportier and lower C-Class Coupe.

A while back, we heard Wagener saying the C-Class Coupe is going to be the “coolest version” of the W205 generation and that it will be even more beautiful than the S-Class Coupe. Now, the man in charge of design at Mercedes-Benz mentions he insisted to make the coupe version sportier by implementing a sleeker roofline which is 1.6 inches (4 cm) lower than on the old C-Class Coupe.

By adopting this different shape, the new C-Class Coupe will be less practical as the rear seats had to be move forward which has reduced the amount of leg and knee room available in the back while the trunk will also be smaller, according to vehicle line chief Christian Frueh. In return, passengers will sit almost 1 inch lower (2.5 cm) while the center of gravity has been lowered as well. Corroborated with a specially tuned suspension and steering, the C-Class Coupe will be quicker around the track than the latest C-Class Sedan.

Emphasis is mine. I'm not sure why the mothership (aka Daimler) keeps claiming the new C-coupe is prettier than the S-coupe. As nice as the new C-coupe may be over its predecessor, it is nowhere close to the S-coupe in design cohesiveness. It lacks the "pillarless" design that has become a signature element of 'true' Mercedes-Benz coupes, It does not have bespoke interior or exterior styling to separate it from the W205 sedan (whereas, the S-coupe looks nothing like it's 4-door brethren).

I'm as excited for the new C-coupe as the next person but let's not pretend that MB's re-invented the sliced bread here.

I think there's a C pillar kink that they're leaving out, but yes it does look stunning.

I hope it doesn't have C pillar kink. Also I have read that usualy those magazines see a real car months before car is revealed and they makes renders based on what they have seen..

Don't know if this is definitive, but I found it on page 4 of this thread...probably it won't be that bad, might actually add to it...

Technically, yes. Cars that are more expensive tend to have higher quality materials and more sophisticated engineering/better performance.

However, this is not the case with design. One could find a Porsche Cayman more attractive than a Panamera, even though it is technically "at 1/2 the price." Likewise, a Ford Mustang is not necessarily inferior to the C-Class design-wise just because it is "at 1/3 the price" (although it is more like 1/2 the price).

Someone usually posts what the reveal date is, but no one knows and none of the article hint at a possible reveal date. Between this C Coupe and the S Cabrio we're going to be spoiled in a few weeks I'm hoping.
