Also, something that's interesting, and isn't really visible via those crappy Cell Phone quality pics (you can kiiiind of see it if you squint), but the 6's hue of white is different from the hue on the 5. The 5 had a more White-White, almost a flat look compared to the 6's more cream/off-white hue in comparison. I wonder if this has to do with different materials the cars might be made of, of which the paints are applied atop of? I've noticed this on M-B Whites as well.

This was probably posted here, but it's a cool read, from the exterior Designer of the 6-Series who is of Iranian nationality (he also designed the interior of the 7 Series which means that he basically shaped the interior of new BMW's in general).

Usually I find a lot of the analogies these guys use to be Marketing BS. However, his focus on fluidity and "stream" makes a lot of sense toward the car.

What I especially like is that he drives a humble 330. That's true passion right there (not adamant about having the "latest and greatest" as they say) .

Yeah the 6 is one of those cars that need all the goodies to fully look complete, as is the CLS. They're cars designed with fashion in mind (no utilitarianism there really) so they need the full glam setup. The E-Class and 5-Series segment type of cars can look good in more austere measures IMO, as they can highlight the more "pure" type of designs.

I really wish I didn't see the reflection of myself getting out of the damn 6-Series.... I just saw such a great fit And yes, because this is the last thing I needed to see. Lol.

You'd be surprised what they may be able to offer you !

Most likely that the 6er was Mineral White, and the 5er was Alpine White.

I have a 320D coupe in Mineral White.....awesome color,,,,glad I picked it over Alpine White !!

Hmm, that's a weird angle The car looks so high in the rear....

But don't fred, the 6er coupé is always pretty. Even with mediocre rims. And without the M pack too.

Only thing the car needs to really enhance the looks are LED headlights/blinkers (damn I sound like Tarek), but at least they are available (I have yet to see a coupe without them in fact, whereas the cabrio never has them)

I seem to spend half my life travelling. I started yesterday in Seoul.

I haven't started the R8 since before Christmas, so yes, I'll have to get in it this week.

The classic car enthusiasts problem:

"When your livelihood which funds your car fetish gets in the way of your car fetish".

Not really. The production car will be very futuristic for its time ...
BMW are packing all the production ready state-of-art-tech in the car. In order the car will really stand out from the crowd.
Including the "electric turbo"engine , laser headlights, all the ConnectedDrive stuff (infotainment stuff, driving assistance stuff etc) , all-digital cockpit, CFRP car body etc.
It will be a pioneering car ... But for how long? The rivals are not resting either, although their are not as vocal regarding the future products as BMW is.

Mind the BMW i will always bring futuristic state-of-art tech to the automotive world ... i as innovations. M gives you thrilling (motor)sports machines, i will provide you the hippest hi-tech machines.

What about the use of windshield as computer screen....as seen in Mission Impossible. or the dual-view nav screen

The question of weight,,,,it is a lot "lighter" , considering the weight of the wallet in your back pocket!!
