An email arrived in my inbox with 0% finance and complementary 3 year finance on the X5, X4 and X6 which are all outgoing models, and the 6-Series GT. Additional discount is available if you are a committed buyer.
It's no surprise that BMW are already struggle to sell the 6er GT in the UK. It huge, has less rear headroom than the 5er Touring and cost a lot more with no standout USP.
As a practical option for moving people around, I still think it's a good one.
The X5, XC90 and Q7 cost similar money but feel considerably roomier and have generously sized middle seat on the second row. However they are not as cushy as the 6GT.
Good point about the omission of a entry level 520d/525d. Given the new positioning, I doubt a four pot model will be introduced at a later stage.
FWIW, my friend was too cheap to spec the running boards on is Disco, I am about 177 cm tall, and I consciously have to climb up to get in it. His girlfriend (who is quite short) broke her ankle getting down out of it. I know it's an anecdotal story, but the fact is that ease of ingress and egress is easier when the seating and floor is at a certain height. In my limited experience, that's something that the old GT got right, I've not sat in the G32 yet.
Off course the 630i is. My bad.The 630 already is a four pot sadly.
The 5GT was never a great seller here either, after it's initial introduction they literally only sold in handfuls... and the bigger engined cars are more scarce than 3.0CSL's. The 520d GT made up a large amount of the sales, and that's not an option this time - though I guess the 630d is pretty close in practice.
I have to admit, I am liking the profile more and more.
the old 5er GT is dirt cheap compared to f10 sedan, 6er GT is possibly going to be the same caseThe 6GT is a good bargain if you buy used. My assumptions that it would remain the depreciation queen in the BMW line up is true.
I've seen well equipped models that are less than 6 months old, discounted by as much as 25%. This is only the start as we are in the first model year. By the time early adopters demand has been met, discounts and depreciat...

4 cylinder diesel options are available in the UK. The difference in price between a 520d and 620d is 7%.The car looks very good, but like said the small engines will be where it's at. The 5er GT became pretty popular when the 2.0 engines arrived, and the same will happen with the 6er GT when the smallest engine is not the 630i but 620i/d. The difference in price with the G30 right now is almost 20k for the cheapest 6er, and that's steep.

Yes. The difference in Holland between a 520d and 620d touring is 17. What are discounts like over there. In the UK you'll easily succeed in haggling the price of a 6GT close to the UK equivalent and even get 0% APR.the 520d still is a lot cheaper than the 620d. Speaking for the Dutch market.
