6 Series (G32) [Official] BMW 6er GT (G32)

The BMW G32 is the fourth generation 6 Series, which went on sale from 2017 to 2023. The body style of the G32 is a 5-door fastback and it is marketed as "6 Series Gran Turismo" (replacing the previous generation 5 Series Gran Turismo).
A few month ago i had chance to meet it closer and for me it's a nice car :)

An email arrived in my inbox with 0% finance and complementary 3 year finance on the X5, X4 and X6 which are all outgoing models, and the 6-Series GT. Additional discount is available if you are a committed buyer.

It's no surprise that BMW are already struggle to sell the 6er GT in the UK. It huge, has less rear headroom than the 5er Touring and cost a lot more with no standout USP.

The 5GT was never a great seller here either, after it's initial introduction they literally only sold in handfuls... and the bigger engined cars are more scarce than 3.0CSL's. The 520d GT made up a large amount of the sales, and that's not an option this time - though I guess the 630d is pretty close in practice.

I just don't think the UK is good market for it... people are too keen to jump into an SUV, and we're already an established strong market for Tourers... the GT just hasn't been able to crack that here. Rear head room might be less this time around, but it still offers more passenger space in every other regard than the Tourer. As a practical option for moving people around, I still think it's a good one.

My honest opinion is that it has a bitch ugly face... and people don't like bitch ugly faces... and that's coming from someone that actually quite likes the LCI 5GT M-Sport!

The X5, XC90 and Q7 cost similar money but feel considerably roomier and have generously sized middle seat on the second row. However they are not as cushy as the 6GT.

I had a hunch that commercial success would be easier because of a name change. On the used market it will be a depreciation monster making it a bargain. We aren't even into first year of production. Wait another 12 months when many are sitting on new and used lots. Low mileage models will be available for not much more than a new 530i saloon.

Good point about the omission of a entry level 520d/525d. Given the new positioning, I doubt a four pot model will be introduced at a later stage.

My personal feeling is that SUV's can carry a lot of stigma, I would completely understand somebody choosing those cars, but at the same time, I can completely understand why somebody would be against getting an SUV. FWIW, my friend was too cheap to spec the running boards on is Disco, I am about 177 cm tall, and I consciously have to climb up to get in it. His girlfriend (who is quite short) broke her ankle getting down out of it. I know it's an anecdotal story, but the fact is that ease of ingress and egress is easier when the seating and floor is at a certain height. In my limited experience, that's something that the old GT got right, I've not sat in the G32 yet.

The 630 already is a four pot sadly.

That's funny. The ride height of the GT6 is high enough to make it easier for adults to slide in, but is low enough for kids to get out of the car without parents having to lift them. Those with hip problems will appreciate the car too.

Off course the 630i is. My bad.

Why do not BMW use this for the 6 series coupe, convertible and grand coupe?
By the way I really like the 6GT but now that the 8 series came out and it is very different I think this would have an excellent place on the line ... perfect competitor of the E-Class coupe and others ..

In addition, the 6 series would continue to live in the ways it deserves
Can someone make a quick fix with this to visualize it in GrandCoupe format?
Thanks in advance ...

Aaaaannnddd....

620d announced.

New entry-level engines for the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo

If the cabin offers the same insulation from the engine as the 7-Series, then the 20d could be a compelling luxury cruiser without high running costs. I'm expecting units with 15-25% discount sitting on lots, ready for people to snap up. X3 and 5-Series Touring customers might even be tempted - at least in the UK where the 20d still reign supreme.

I have to admit, I am liking the profile more and more.

The 6GT is a good bargain if you buy used. My assumptions that it would remain the depreciation queen in the BMW line up is true.

I've seen well equipped models that are less than 6 months old, discounted by as much as 25%. This is only the start as we are in the first model year. By the time early adopters demand has been met, discounts and depreciation will worsen.

The pick of the bunch will be those with all-around air suspension.

the old 5er GT is dirt cheap compared to f10 sedan, 6er GT is possibly going to be the same case

The car looks very good, but like said the small engines will be where it's at. The 5er GT became pretty popular when the 2.0 engines arrived, and the same will happen with the 6er GT when the smallest engine is not the 630i but 620i/d. The difference in price with the G30 right now is almost 20k for the cheapest 6er, and that's steep.

Well that's kind of weird for a guy with your username, because this is the only BMW without a Hoffmeister kink :D

4 cylinder diesel options are available in the UK. The difference in price between a 520d and 620d is 7%.

You're right, I now see only the 620i is missing in Holland, the 620d is available.
But still, the 630i and 620d are priced very similarly. Which makes sense because the 630i is a little 4 pot now....

And while the 5er comes with a 518d engine (yikes!), the 520d still is a lot cheaper than the 620d. Speaking for the Dutch market.

Yes. The difference in Holland between a 520d and 620d touring is 17. What are discounts like over there. In the UK you'll easily succeed in haggling the price of a 6GT close to the UK equivalent and even get 0% APR.
