All the CL needs is to have the AMG package standard. A unique AMG wheel. Fix that quirky white area on the tail lamps. And, price it more appropriately. It's a short SWB S-class afterall.

I'm not exactly sure if any significant number of people opt for the CLK instead of the CL because of price.
Slap on a retractible roof, and even I could trade in the beloved S.

Rear lights graphics as the one on the S-Class FL, and new grille and front bumper, and squared mirrors.

Mercedes-Benz is working on the new CL which will be called S-Class Coupe when released. As S-Class’ design is still quite fresh changes are minor and include redesigned bumpers, new grille and LED headlights. Very likely taillights will be replaced with LED units as well.

The grill isn’t as slanted as on the current CL and will now come split with a single chrome bar across it, giving more prominence to the Mercedes badge sitting in the middle.
Top of the line AMG model will use the same 5.5-liter V8 and 5.5-liter V12 that are probably getting an increase in horsepower and improved fuel economy. World debut is expected this fall at the Frankfurt Auto Show.

It would make sense given respective engines on the SLS AMG and the SL 65 AMG Black Series. What does not make sense is the statement about the horsepower war ending.

That would be excellent news. I had heard the same, something about the SL63 showcasing a double clutch 7 speed that was apparently to be destined for the V12 models.

I think they are testing it with the same old lights,the S-Class coupe is gonna have the same fancy LED rear lights as the FL S

BTW that FL is gonna totally piss on the Bentley CGT

For the first time we have a video showing the new S-Class Coupe in action during harsh winter testing. The big two-door was caught on camera about 100km from the icy town of Arjeplog in Sweden. Much of what could be disguised is left out in the open and all that is left under the covers are the bonnet, the front lower grille and parts of the rear end. Presumably these are the areas where most changes were made.
The S-Class Coupe is the new name given to the successor of the old CL-Class which was essentially an S-Class with two doors. Mercedes-Benz seems to be reducing the number of model names the public has to remember when it comes to its range of cars.
