I do not think MB will adress the interior quality issue in the FL, as A-Class is the base model of MB maybe the quality will slighty improve which on par with others competitor base model.

I think they will make the interior look more like CLA and GLA (in terms of trim), than upgrade the interior significantly.

However, my biggest problem were the seats, and trunk. The former, because they are to hard, and just not comfortable enough; the latter, because of narrow opening (and it could use additional 20L).

Will be upgraded to around 380 PS
Our spies have sent us a fresh batch of images with a thinly camouflaged prototype of a 2016 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG facelift.

Audi released yesterday a video with the RS3 Sportback at the Vallelunga track and the description says it's "the most powerful compact hatchback currently in series production" thanks to a 367 PS 5-cylinder 2.5-liter turbo engine. However, it won't be the top dog for a long time as Mercedes-Benz is just about ready to dethrone the RS3 by bumping output of the 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo to from 360 PS (265 kW) to somewhere in the region of 380 PS (280 kW), thus taking back the power crown from Audi.

Aside from the power hike, the revised A45 AMG will feature slightly different graphics for the lighting clusters along with some minor revisions to both front and rear bumpers. Some interior tweaks are planned as well, but nothing to write home about.

While the current A45 AMG needs 4.6 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill, the facelifted version will probably do it 0.1s quicker and should top out at the same electronically-capped 155 mph (250 km/h).

Most likely we will have to wait until September when Mercedes-Benz will introduce the refreshed A-Class family at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

I personally think AMG will up the power to the 400PS level to give the A45 AMG a sizable advantage over not just the RS3 but upcoming BMW M2 and Golf R400. I think the 0-100km/h sprint will come down to 4.1-4.2sec and not 4.5sec as mentioned above so that the A45 will be quicker than the RS3.

The latest rumors

The A-Class facelift might perhaps sport adaptive dampers / Dynamic Select as well as an updated telematics generation. The COMAND display could be flat and covered with glass. The smartphone integration should be improved, and in addition, there may be new materials as well as a little more chrome in the interior, new upholstery and finally a driver and passenger seat with seat depth adjustment. The updated A-Class could become available to order in June, and arrive at the dealerships in Germany in the fall. Translated from MB Passion

The C's seem somewhat different. MB calls it "Agility Control with Selective Damping". Can be bit confusing, I agree.

Airmatic is optional on the C, but standard on the C 350 e:

Yes, the C's "Agility Control with Selective Damping" may have some similarities. Airmatic is only optional in the C, though, and standard on the C 350 e.

I really hope Mercedes have revised the setup of the A-class suspension to make the ride much more comfortable and in line with other Mercedes models as the current model has been given flack by the press for having a suspension that is too hard and unforgiving over bumps. I wonder if they will ditch the rear seats with integrated head rests as these seriously make the rear view visibility a problem. If they can improve the look of the iPad screen and make frame more classy then it will make a big difference to the dash.

^ Agreed, folks looking for a comfortable ride may wish to select suspension option 485, comfortable suspension, instead of the sport suspension which comes standard in some equipment lines or countries.

AMG insiders told Autocar: "We’re not going to simply rest on our laurels. We already have certain developments in store for the M133 [the internal codename for the A45’s engine] that will see us retain a competitive edge if and when our rivals do catch up.”

Thanks Wolfgang I didn't know that standard headrest type seats are available for the A-class rear seats, I guess cause most magazines receive AMG spec models for testing that's why I have only seen the integrated headrest back seats.

Spied: Facelift To Bring More Power To 2016 Mercedes A45 AMG

Not too long ago, we nabbed a couple of prototypes for the updated 2016 Mercedes-Benz A-Class hatch and now, we've come across the crown jewel of the series, the A45 AMG.
exterior of the A45 AMG, including revised lights and bumpers on both ends, a new grille, as well as a twin-dial instrument binnacle, new steering wheel and controls for the infotainment system inside, but more importantly, more oomph under the hood.

AMG officials have said that they want to take the power lead in the segment again after Audi toppled Stuttgart with their new 362hp (367PS) RS3, meaning that the A45 AMG's 2.0-liter turbocharged four should go from 355hp (360PS) to around 375-horses.

What's more is that there are rumors about AMG pondering about an even more powerful version with the "S" moniker, just like it does with its other models, and which could get over 400-horses to keep VW's upcoming Golf R 400 (or R420) in check.

The new A45 AMG should break cover alongside the regular A-Class hatch at this fall's Frankfurt Motor Show.
