Carspyshots insider MCLAREN_P10 tell us a few clues about the new S-Class (W222)and its design and also new AMG variants as the next CLS one (wich is said to be the low W222 AMG engine, being the top one a 715 TT V8 with KERS).
No I'm speakinfg of the next generation S-Class, not the facelift for 2010. The facelift will change very lil' accept the head and tail lamps into LED and some small changes to the bumpers. The single radiator bar is exclusive to the current SL, but will be aded to all the models before 2012, to make Mercedes model line more unique then before. Backing the single bar radiator grill will be small metal slats or wise mesh, the customers choice. The smaller headlamps are all LED lights, with everything intergrated. The new taillamps will add to the styling also, due to there angle to the rear bumper, think well blended and almost seamless at the corners.
The Mercedes CLS will also showcase the direction the next generation S-and CL/S-Class oupes headlamps will go. This model is very well into development and will remain based on a long wheelbase E-class model, which will make it slightly shorter then the next generation S-Class. Also my sources suggest that the CLS will be powered by a version of the current 6.2 liter V-8 and will be followed by a twin-turbo version of the 5.0 liter V-8 producing as mcuh as 575 BHP, with power increasing to as muh as 660 BHP for the AMG.
UPDATE~!!!!!!!
Mercedes has entered the final stages of development of the SLS AMG, this model will be powered by a re-engineered version of the 6.2 liter V-8 which will produce 571 BHP and will have a topspeed of close to 202 MPH. This models aluminum spaceframe will be used in the next generation SL-Class, and SLC AMG models, I will get back to that okay? This gullwing coupe will be extremely designed with plenty of styling cues from the 300 SL Gullwing. Don't think this will be the last of a aluminum spaceframe for Mercedes-AMG, this is actually just the start of it all. The SLC AMG has offically been given to the cabriolet version of the SLS Gullwing coupe.
