It's identical to his screen name except for the space between MBZ and Fan.

But if the mods don't have an issue, then all should be well.

OFFTOPIC:This was already obvious and no one has argued on this issue since I registered in December 2007(if there is an issue, then I kindly ask the mods to rename me and, of course, to let me know my new nick). But involving attorneys...oh, c'mon, gimme a break!:eusa_doh:

If I am ambitious enough, then, the following days, I should register & trademark myself and all the nicknames I possess.

ON TOPIC:Back to the main subject. Thanks ree for your useful info!:usa7uh:

new engines

what is interesting is that autozeitung wrote that next year the S class would get new engines but forgot to mention the facelift of the S class coupe. What is baffling me is that we have not seen pictures of the new facelifted coupe testing for some time now.

Lol @ attorneys

Wow...I didn't even realize that you two had the same name. I think you can change your name if you want too. I don't think the admin/mods need to do anything. Well unless something has changed since the old days (I would hope not).

Yep. Same in AMS - they wrote that new engines will come with the S-Coupé in autumn…

4.6l V8 BiTurbo with 435 hp / 700 Nm

5.5l V8 with 544 hp / 900 Nm

So the new AMG with 544 hp? It´s not a big number having in mind the current has 525 hp... I´m confused.

Obviously my attempt at some humor has been misinterpreted by you. As I was writing my response to your comment, I noticed the similarity of our screen names and found it quite funny that our names were virtually identical (without the space). I have no issue with your name and I am sure the mods also have no problem with the similarity.

I do however drive a CL63, own a wholesale automotive distribution business, and am very friendly with several Mercedes dealers who, from time to time, have great "inside" information. When I get the exact release date of the new S-Coupe, you will be the first to know!

That would really be a sad day if Mercedes-Benz of all car manufacturers stops producing V12's. They could stop making the 65 AMG's, but not the 600's.

If they really have to, they should make only S600's, no CL/SL 600's. There's just something about the S600 that gives me a chill down my spine every time I see one.

After nearly two decades and three generations of S600 V12's, it would really be hard to see a V8 S600.

OFFTOPIC:I have not seen it as joke, but if you say it was, then that's it. I was wrong with my interpretation and, for that, I must offer my excuses to you.:usa7uh:
Hope we'll get on better from now on!And thank you for your kindness of letting me know the exact release date, although I don't utterly need to know that strictly-I am fine with only a hint, the period or the automotive show where this will happen.

C'mon guys, MBZFAN's comment was completely a joke and should not have been taken with too much fuss. However, it occurs to me that the average reader of threads will simply assume messages from the both of them are written by the same person. This is an issue that may compromise their credibility, depending on what they espouse in various discussion. So, a name change or a stronger differentiator than a space would be recommended, imho.

Regarding FL CL getting new engines, that would be completely confusing. Not as confusing as it was in 2006 when the S-Class on sale was the 221 and the CL was 215, but still.... THis would work only if the S-Class would get these new engines come 2011 as well. Wnich may just work, since the new SL is due for a debut and most likely it will have new engines.

Regarding the 544hp not being too much up on the current 525 of the base AMG, we must remember that the expected recipe will also include a much more significant helping of torque, as in 660 lb/ft versus 465 currently. this would make the engine more potent than the current S600.

I highly doubt the era of V12, and Mercedes V12s in particular, is approaching the end. We will almost certainly see 600 models on classes that currently have it. What I doubt is the continuance of an AMG V12 option. This one may be replaced for the hardcore version of the base V8T. Rumored specs include 700hp and 880lb/ft.
