6 Series The BMW Concept 6 Series Coupé

The BMW 6 Series is a range of grand tourers produced by BMW since 1976. It is the successor to the E9 Coupé. The first generation BMW E24 6 Series was available solely as a two-door coupé and produced from 1976 to 1989, when it was supplanted by the larger BMW 8 Series (E31). When the 6 Series nameplate was revived in 2004 for the second generation, the BMW E63/E64 6 Series, the coupé was joined by a convertible body style. The third generation F06/F12/F13 6 Series debuted in 2011 as a coupé and convertible, and a sedan variant known as the "Gran Coupé" in 2012. When the F06/F12/F13 6 Series ended production, the "Gran Coupé"/coupé/convertible models shifted into the more upmarket BMW 8 Series (G15) nameplate. The fourth generation 6 Series, the G32 6 Series, debuted in mid-2017 and is offered only as a fastback body style to complement the BMW 5 Series (G30) sedan/wagon.
Front looks dumb..and lacking aggressiveness to rounded...
I would say that since the Gran Coupe , the front has lost it's element to surprise?
Rear is hot like all recent bmw´s..
Yes integrating an evolutionary and classic design.
Side profile is non flattering and fat looking..not very coupeish..
From side on , this is a big car a grand coupe in the traditional sense.
When you see it you will understand why they are talking about a 5er Coupe.
Interior..is cool..but i hate the trend jaguar started, and audi carried on with the A7..of the rounded of edges and the doors that fit into it..
Again a classic approach as BMW used to incorporate the air vents built into the doors which wrapped around from the dashboard.
That slab of interior that twists down the center is cool..like a modern building..but in this concept its covered with hot leather..what if its black plastic (production version)?? NOT HOT...and it will just look stupid..
No the production car will be finished in Leather as standard.

But its still not exciting enough.... i have to give it 5/10
It is very clean without being too over technical when looked on side on.
the line that stops at the rear wheel arch was where the upper line broke to enhance the wheelarch but they reprofiled and rejoined the lines later in development.

Cool..so it will have leather as standard that's a PLUS..
And is this based on a 5er? always thought the 6er was a 7er coupe:t-hands:

Other than that..my previous opinion stands!!!

And with this comes the end of the 2003 product line-up.
Now that the 5er (E60) , X3(E83) and 6er(E63) have all but been replaced...

^X5 and 7er aswell..

Imo 4 out of 5 are better than previous gen..

X3,X5,6er and 7er..

I like the new 5er..but the old one was just to nice:) it was such a revolution..and still looks good:) ( M package Ofcourse)

Not bad..for BMW;) progress

I won't lie, something about that hood is bugging me. But the rest of the car...pure sex. Can't wait to see this with ///M trim. ;)

F__K yeah!!! Thats what I wanted to hear. That interior is gorgeous, and if it stays that way, you're looking at my future car. Down the road though, when I can get a certified used. I aint rich!

An improvement over the outgoing model but not exciting as the new cls or A7.

Not as "exciting" as the CLS? Ok, i might give you that. But the A7, imo, is as exciting looking as blank canvas.

Nice looking coupe but not quite the production version of the CS concept I was hoping for. The headlights will take some getting used to because the undercut for the indicators looks a bit awkward. The interior is disappointing, it looks like a big mesh of random shapes, and the placement of the screen looks like an afterthought.

Scott, is this concept going to the Australian motor show in October?

Regarding B&O hi fi system, I remember scott said that Harmon/Kardon are just fine :D

BTW this 6er is the first nail in my Panamera's coufin :D I love it. clean simple and elegant. Something can't be said about rivals right now. And most amazingly, it has little to no resemblence to other cars. Distinctively BMW.

BMW re invented itself very successfully, no wonder they are No.1 luxury brand.

Is the full LED headlights trend to continue with other BMWs coming in future? the next 3er?

What have they done to the frontlights. Why the heck did they have to change them :eusa_doh:

This is perfect

What do you mean Andreas ? it looks the same, you mean light design or graphics (inside the light) ?

They changed a small detail in the headlights, which made the front of the car less aggressive :t-banghea .Fortunately, the rest of the body, including interior is great:usa7uh:

Those pics look more rendered or very heavily touched and too soft.

But as for the car, the rear and profile looks very hot. The front a little bit soft, but I think that is the concept grill, that production ones look sharp (literally).

The interior is amazing, at last a driver oriented interior from BMW after a long break. And easily the best in class.

The Coupe will be officially shown in November and will debut at Geneva , next March. European sales begin in April , North American sales commence in July.

This is not BMW's "only" Paris Concept.

I thought you said the cabriolet was coming first?

I assume the M Sport package will be launched some time around July next year for display at Frankfurt September 2011?

This car is absolutely stunning. :eusa_pray

Definite contender to replace my M3 next year.

I have been wondering for a while, why BMW present their concepts in fancy leather combinations especially the steering wheel while they only offer it in Black, they drifted once in the E65/6 and never repeated that again, I know its their signature but customers needs a variaty of options also. Sometimes those black steering wheels look out of place with bright leather options. I hope this changes while offering extended leather options.

I am really liking that BMW went with a premium Hifi manufacturer. Never experienced a B&O system but I hear they are good. Although Jeremy clarckson disagrees :D
