6 Series The BMW Concept 6 Series Coupé

The BMW 6 Series is a range of grand tourers produced by BMW since 1976. It is the successor to the E9 Coupé. The first generation BMW E24 6 Series was available solely as a two-door coupé and produced from 1976 to 1989, when it was supplanted by the larger BMW 8 Series (E31). When the 6 Series nameplate was revived in 2004 for the second generation, the BMW E63/E64 6 Series, the coupé was joined by a convertible body style. The third generation F06/F12/F13 6 Series debuted in 2011 as a coupé and convertible, and a sedan variant known as the "Gran Coupé" in 2012. When the F06/F12/F13 6 Series ended production, the "Gran Coupé"/coupé/convertible models shifted into the more upmarket BMW 8 Series (G15) nameplate. The fourth generation 6 Series, the G32 6 Series, debuted in mid-2017 and is offered only as a fastback body style to complement the BMW 5 Series (G30) sedan/wagon.
So nice, so elegant imo. Some will say it doesn't look "aggressive" but i think it depends on what's "aggressive"... to just have a set of headlights looking angry (by sloping downwards or however playing with the graphics inside it etc) can impose an angry/aggressive face but just look at the whole emotion and stance of this thing, not the angry looking one but a nice, feeling of ease to it... looks a little like the Z4 at some angles. Really can't complain about the side profile..compared to this CLS, this is so much cleaner with lines that makes sense imo.

If that i-drive screen is pop-up, i'd be quite surprised. looks very well incorporated into the whole interior though.

awesome car (i love the rear)
the only thing i am not really fond of is the front overhang, a little long for a bmw.
those lights look to be production ready (front and rear), if so - totally amazing. looks miles better then audi's candle lights

I was one of the first ones to see this car last night, posting a set of pics I saw. I haven´t said anything cause I´ve taken a few hours to diggest the pics.

First thing I see is a lack of aggressivenes in the front end wich contrast for example with the sporty front ends of the 5er GT or the 5er. I said this back in April when the Gran Coupe debuted, as it was a black car, and the didn´t see well how the indicator part looked. The result is that in light colours, the car front lights look quite un-BMW. The front bumper is strange too, it´s just new in the BMW line up and will take some time to get used to it.

The side profile is just gorgeous, it makes clear how BMW perfectly contorls the proportions of their cars, and how athletic and old-school they are. This car reminds me A LOT to the first 6er, it´s just perfect from the side, with the strong character line, and the other lines on the door, it´s just perfect like it is.

The rear end looks perfect from if you look at it directly, but the 3/4 view looks rare, not bad, but rare. Overall the rear is nice, quite nice, and is a bit different from the latest BMW creations, so no complains with it.

The interior. I wouldn´t call it elegant, not very sporty. It´s a fantastic combination between the two, maybe the production version makes the interior much more sporty than elegant, but I like the driver focused stance, it´s 100% BMW, and far from that X5-ish interiors of the 7er and 5er.

The bottom line is that this car is a very rounded machine. You canñt say it is ugly from any angle. I´m surprised by the size, as now it looks like the CL. It´s elegant, maybe too elegant for a BMW, specially compared to the current 6er, wich is far form being elegant.

Well, nothing unexpected. Basically GC with two doors. ;) The rear is the best part. :usa7uh:

The interior is great, very familiar look but nice individual details to stand out from the sister models.
But why did they have to team up with B&O? :eusa_doh: Why not B&W or Naim for example? B&O is known for putting design before function. And where's the originality when both Audi and MB already use them?

The front hang is still too long IMO. I also hope the production car will be available with xenons or that they otherwise sharpen the look because now it looks quite mundane from the front...

What have they done to the frontlights. Why the heck did they have to change them :eusa_doh:

I don't think they've changed the front lights... :t-hands: In the production 6er the LED strip for the turn signal will be visible.

.

I would agree to that for 100%...but what I absolutely don´t like is the huge front overhand (together with the strange front bumper), especially seen from the 3/4 look

apart from the big screen and sound system nothing impressed me, no doubt it is big improvement from previous model.

Very elegant, and graceful.

However, also very FAT, I thought BMW were moving away from the fat look? I can't stand fat cars.

It'll be hot, HOW hot (to me) is a different story.

It looks feminine (in a good way, not in the "chick car" way), and that strip that weaves down the center console inside, reminds me of a single shoulder strap on a womans elegant dress.

So far, it's nice, but not something I'd feel like buying.... so far.

The interior is nice, but the pop-up screen looks cheap and cheesy to me, and there's a bit too much focus on looking "sharp/modern", although, not as bad as some cars.

All in all, a HUGE improvement over the outgoing 6'er. And a closer tie to the gorgeous OG 6'er.

.... I think the Bangle era will start doing more harm than it did good for BMW starting now, as those revolutionary/trend-setting/redefining (ugly :D) designs (that everybody copied, and still copy) are now looking very dated, and people were trained to expect that from BMW, so the new, NICER designs, might go unappreciated.

Another side note: I've seen some F10's on the road, and although I do think it's one of the best all around Sedan designs through and through, it has absolutely no presence on the road, for a brand new BMW, I don't think it spawns any notices. I'm an enthusiast, and even I have to look hard to tell if what I'm looking at is an F10.

.... That said, the F01 is still one of the best looking Sedans of all time to me.

So with a 5er coupe in the works..will this car rival the CL?

Joke post I hope???
You and Artist are being fantastic Mercedes boy trolls again here in this thread. Utterly pathetic.

Anyways.......behold, the most beautiful BMW I have ever seen, inside out.

It´s just that, in dark colours the indicator part of the front lights won´t be that vissible, and it would seem that the lights are slim and aggressive. But in light colours you can see the entire shape of the headlights, wich is not as nice.

No, it's just the CGI style of the photos that's making it looks different. In real life, count on it that the blinker area will be dark and inwards, and thus much less part of the headlights.

God, this car is sex. Pure sex. I absolutely LOVE it. Instantly.

Best interpretation of the Flaming surface ... on a current BMW. Some went away with the FS that they almost deliberatily concaved/convexed every panel, while this one, it feels natural, no sharp creases. I am very glad with BMW Lineup rightnow. Still a 6GC is my pick, I like Massive sedan presence :)

That picture, to give Artist a taste of his own recipe, make all the lines on the CLS look like an extremely bad joke.

Well, this car much more conservative, but yep, the lines are perfect, no pointless lines. I quite like the profile, wich let us clear how perfect proportions are in recent BMWs.

BTW, Am I the only one who thinks the worst parts of this car are the Concept ones?. The rims, the small deatils of the air intakes and the kidneys, are not production features, nor the pipes, that look worse for example than the 550i ones.

ABSOLUTELY NICE dispite the small concept things.

Delicious, specially the rear end.
