Touareg [Spyshots] 2017 VW Touareg Spy Pics & Info

Kodiaq is a cheaper Tiguan Allspace, it doesn't look as good. I'd like to see a Skoda version of the Touareg with only 4 cylinder engines and a hybrid.

It's getting difficult to work out what I will buy to replace my A6. I need the space, I like big wagons, my wife wants an SUV, the govt a fighting a war on diesel, BEV's don't have the range to fit what we do with our main family vehicle, first world problems I know but it's a dilemma all the same.

How about buying a Tiguan Allspace 2.0TSI?

Unless you buy the Nissan Leaf, BEV that make economical sense and have a good range won't be available before 2020.

I would be interested if VW launched a Tiguan Allspace GTE, being a hybrid the tax is a lot cheaper, for example the base price of a Passat GTE is 460,000 NOK, compared to 624,000 for the 2.0 TSI and 556,000 for the 2.0 TDI.

I guess there are problems with the development of the new Touareg. It can't be that this whole time no info is published for the new car.

Maybe they are waiting with the launch until they meet the emission standards with the Diesel engines? Could be possible as the Cayenne was launched without diesel engines in the line up, but maybe they are more important for the Touareg.

By all accounts OICA states launch is still (this week) in November. However if they have pulled it from the US Market? Then the next ideal reveal would be For Geneva in March.

VW Passat Alltrack 4motion 2.0 TSFI perhaps ?

You beat me to it on that Tiguan Allspace 2.0 TSI suggestion, Centurion.

That's what I'm thinking - the total silence points to something unpleasant.

Can't be that big of a killer blow; connected sources say the Cayenne Diesel models are back in mid-2018 but surely the new/smaller-displacement petrols would appeal to Asian/Middle Eastern markets [volume customers for VW].

No way it'll happen in LA seeing that the Touareg is axed from the US lineup and subbed in with the Atlas/new extended Tiguan. Geneva is far off but you're right that it'd be ideal. A private unveiling could work too.

But at least we should have seen some spy pics with less or with almost no camo till now

Agreed again. I don't know what's happening in Wolfsburg but they need to hurry up and put the new car out already.

Spied in China.
Having made 310.000 km with the previous one just sold last March, I am really curious about the new one..

Urgh. Annoying that the release of the car is being dragged out. The engine range better be decent. Throw out the thirsty and expensive V6. Give us the same range of engines as a Q5. I want a cheaper Q7, not a pricey VW SUV.

The success or failure of this really depends on the price, too high and you might as well buy the Q7 or Cayenne, too low and it will take sales from the Q5 and Maccan.

Fresh but elegant! 99% T-Prime concept. Finally we see an alluring SUV from VAG. The blend of soft edges and bodywork creases is perfect. This will be a winner but as @KiwiRob has underscored, the price/engines will be deal breaking.

In the UK it has the same asking price as an RR Velar! However the interior fit and finish of the Touareg is outstanding and above the Q5/X3/GLC. It's a more expensive car but feels like it throughout.

The rear wheel arch treatment is such an Audi Q5 rip off. In fact there is just way too much Audi DNA in the whole package including rear lights, panel shaping etc. It's fine for VW, but a massive shame for Audi.

The front end is grotesque and has clearly been designed with the Chinese market in mind, and the overall silhouette is poor.

I agree about the grill, it's pretty bling. Brace yourself for it to be rolled out on many VWs. The Arteon is the first car to have it and sport VWs new and more striking design language. Between that and the bland look of a 2016 Jetta, I welcome the new bolder direction.

Rumor has it that all new VAG product introductions from MY 2019 onwards will feature large, mid dash-mounted analogue clocks.
