Wow @Wolfgang well spotted and that could be a possibility! It is amazing those 2 cars were parked exactly the same angle and in same place with the rocks behind then in that parking spot! So weird!

True, suspect the photographer Stefan Baldauf / SB Medien likes to take pics at this spot. :)

This looks like a fairly drastic facelift... why am I not surprised ?

Wonder how they will resolve the navigation screen ?

The volumes of this model simply don't justify a full redesign which is why they even kept the roof from the previous model. I think it will be another 5 years before we get a complete new model.

Well if this is the way MB looks at it they might as well wrap it up.

LOL at the way they treat their most iconic car.

looks a major facelift, headlamps, interior clearly from the GT, rear lights looking nice with the darkened redded-out look, which harks to the previous SL, a real neat touch.

That overbite, shark grille isn't going to do anything to fix the SL. The car's proportions are wrong and that is something that can't be fixed during a facelift without major $$$$. Sigh....this should have been the SL of a lifetime. The engineering is great, but the design just isn't pretty. This facelift will likely make it worse IMO.

To me it looks so much better with the changed headlights and grille.

The changed parts are better indeed, but 75% of the car remains the same and it just doesn't work.
My biggest problem now is that horrible trunk design. It's massive and wants to swallow the whole rear including lights.

Hmm, I never realized this before... but I guess there is a clock maker somewhere in Stuttgart having a deep discount on those fugly dash wart clocks?

Face/lifted MBs usually give traces of the next generation models.
If this SL have the inverted grill the next generation is probably going to go all out with it.

I hope the next generation has the soft top. It would certainly free up some boot space and give way to a sportier design.
