Quattroporte [Official] Maserati Quattroporte Facelift

The Maserati Quattroporte is a four-door full-size luxury sedan produced by Maserati. The name translated from Italian means "four doors".
They sold with massive discounts right from the start and didn't offer the features of their competitors. In reality it should've been priced in line with the Jaguar XJ and not a cent more.

Anyone know why the new Quattroporte depreciates at a faster rate than it’s competitors and at a much faster rate than the last QP?

The majority of MY2014s (145) are in the low to mid $40k range, with MY15 not far behind.

Though mileage is relatively high, the MSRP for this QP GTS was $173K, now on sale for $$39k. 22% of original value in just 3 years. Extraordinary

The interior plastics look worn and greasy in most.

Would buying one second-hand with remaining factory warranty a good idea for people in the market?
Factoring in all variables they don't depreciate as fast as these offers make it seem. Maserati just launched their CPO program so it's worth looking into that if you want to buy one.

Expensive servicing, pricey spare parts and gut wrenching out of warranty repair cost. A friend of mine recently backed out of getting a used Granturismo because of the high depreciation.

WTF??? It's time for me to get a used Maser apparently lol. Those prices are tempting. My goodness. It must really be an awful car to own?

I'm tempted to go to Maseratilife to see what's going on. Then again those owner forums are full of two types of posts: new car introductions and complaints.

I still can't wrap my head around the depreciation of that GTS, even though there was likely a big discount when bought new.

Not really actually. Much like Ghibli, they made small behind the scenes tweaks every year so the later model years ride much better and had software quirks and such addressed from the start. Nothing about this car is going to incur maintenance costs outside your average luxury sedan.

The GTS with those huge wheels rode terribly when I test drove one. Actually similiar to a Jag XJR. Much too firm for this class of car and I'm not surprised no one is clamoring for one.

I pulled this (stunning) picture from an embarrassing list of the highest depreciating luxury cars:

I can attest to the 6er being on the list for good reason.

Funny, I could've predicted the 5 barges easily. I took an absolute bath on my old 6er GC. With how more expensive the 8er is, the curve will be much steeper.

Right now you can get a loaded 2016-17 750i M-Sport in the low-mid $30k range fully loaded (B&W audio, quilted seats, rear seat package) with lease termination mileage. Tremendous deal unless you want the 2020 look.

Which is one reason why I would never consider a new 8-Series.

Have you ever considered buying an used car? I know a lot of people prefer to be the first owner but the 8er would be a great offer when is 2 years old, 20 k miles and still some factory warranty left. I myself wouldn't mind if someone had made the first 20 k miles in which the car is still running in. The last time I bought a new car I made 60 k km for half an year and realised that for me it doesn't matter if the car is new or 30-40 k km. Cars are like women - tbey need to be a little used to show their best.

Yes. A 2-3 year old CPO MB, BMW or even Audi is very tempting. The S550/S560 Cabriolet would be great under such circumstance. The 8-Series outside of the convertible just doesn't move me.

There is more value in buying second hand cars no matter what brand. Especially those demo models that have a few thousand or few hundred kms on the clock or even 6 months old cars with low km as they mostly past the bug stage and most little niggles have been fixed or sorted out.

There are many people that prefer to tear the maiden hymen (plastic covers of the seats) strictly by themselves and it's also good to know that nobody else had been farting on the driver's seat.

100% true. However a $1,000/down and $299/month deal on a new car is more accessible for most than buying a used $40,000 car outright of getting approved for a big low interest loan.

I wonder what the actual purchase price of that car was. It didn't take much for a Maserati dealer to knock down the sale price even when these were brand new.
