Re: Spied: Maserati Quattroporte refresh

If only they improved the interior finish and quality and the crappy automatic gearbox. Same case as Aston Martin. Beautiful cars, but quality and gearboxed could be a lot better...

Dude, I think you don't know Maserati already fits a ZF gearbox into its Quattroportes... :usa7uh: But I agree, interior quality needs improvement still. But it's somewhere there already, considering that it's almost entirely handmade.

Re: Spied: Maserati Quattroporte refresh

I didn't know about the gearbox. I was stuck with the old one. Anyway, about the interior, i know it's handmade, but still needs improvement as you said. I remember some pics you posted when you got the car, showing some big gaps between the leather and the trim on the inner side of the doors.

:t-cheers:

A truly beautiful and iconic car. But re the build quality and resale value issues, I don't have a sense that it's a well build and dependable beast. That so? It's a four door sedan after all. At these prices, beauty needs to be far more than skin deep.

I totally agree with Giannis' assessment. The interior is indeed handmade, and it felt it!!!!!!!!! The quality is atrocious. The leather is nice and soft. But the leather stains (even from jeans), creases, and fades easily. That is a problem with all Italian leather.

Re: Spied: Maserati Quattroporte refresh

I'm amazed with the comments about the quality of Maserati's interiors. I guess they haven't completed gotten rid of all old world "character" yet. I'd still have one though, but not as a daily driver.

I wasn't a fan of the pre-FL front, it found it weak.
This FL totally adresses the issue. Perfect. I just love it! It's a splendid, typical Italian creation.

Just fantastic. Too bad it's said not to be reliable, well-build and dependable...

Re: Spied: Maserati Quattroporte refresh

Looks great - but at the moment, I don't know, how I should rate the LED trend. In two years, all cars will "look like the same", because of these stripes…

I agree. LED strips are already starting to look 'normal'. I think what manufacturers need to do is to think up their own specific design shape for the DRLs e.g. Like Vauxhall/Opel have done the 'blade' shape on the Insignia and plan to carry on this shape onto the rest of their range.

Nice grille though!

Well, i love the whole car, and it's character, but i wouldn't choose it over a 7er!

BTW, indeed this car is "hate it or love it"!

To many people are using LEDs now:t-banghea
