3 Series (E90) [Official] BMW E92 Coupé/E93 Cabriolet 3-Series Facelift

The BMW E90 is the fifth generation of the BMW 3 Series range. Body styles: E90 (saloon), E91 (estate/touring), E92 (coupé) and E93 (convertible). Predecessor: BMW E46. Successors: F30/F31 3 Series, and F32/F33 4 Series. Production: 2004-2013.
Just ordered a new 335i coupe, Havana Brown with black interior to replace the 335i convertible. Tossed up on the transmission but decided to go with the twin clutch to try something different, you know, diversify. Kept the same wheel design as on my convertible because they're my favourite wheels. Roughly 3 months until delivery according to my dealer.

Thta's imo a spectacular improvement. From pre facelift 335i cabrio to facelift 335i coupé with DKG will feel like going from 320i to 330i!

I´ve never driven a Cabrio, how is to drive a hard top one?.

It's fantastic, just not really comparable with the coupé. Coupé feels light and nimble compared to it, and quite a bit faster. Potential probably had a 6 speed auto in the cabrio, so the DKG box in the coupé will only increase the performance gap and driving pleasure.

I'll give you a complete comparison between the two when my coupe arrives. You'll have to remind me but - :D - it's a bit away...

And yes only the automatic on the cabrio. So I can compare the two transmissions as well for you if you'd like.

Also, the cabrio was a fantastic drive roof down and many times better with the roof up. It became a dynamic delight with the roof up. You can really feel the body tighten around corners with the roof up.

Yeah, that must be really noticeable. I've driven the cabrio with the roof up only (weather was bad), but it's definitely no coupé in that mode. It's still not as stiff, and like 240 kg or so heavier :)
M3 cabrio and 335i coupé DCT are about equally fast, so that says it all....

A 750i and 335i E92 LCI DCT is a dream garage! Can't wait to read your impressions when you get the car! There's so much to compare, will be fun!!!

It is my dream garage. The 7 Series is just simply fantastic. I've lost interest in the 5 Series of late because I prefer the design of the 7 Series - both inside and outside. There is just something about the serene comfort of the interior, especially the ventilated seats and drivers seat massage function that I have really taken a liking too.

Yep, after all these months my conclusion is that I like the interior of the 7er more than the 5er as well. The exterior I like about equally I think, it's just different. 7er is magnificent and smooth, while 5er is more sporty and sharp...

I think that is logical that people prefer the 7er design, it should be the very best of BMW, without internal competitors.

I don't think that's logical at all. It's easier to make a pretty design when the car is smaller imo. I like the C much more than the S for example (exterior looks)

I should admit I´m not too objetive with the 7er. Even when I loved our E39, I always opened my mouth everytime I saw an E38. With this gen is the same, I really like the design of the 5er, but the 7er is (for me) the perfect BMW, even when some features are nicer on the 5er (front lights for example), the overall package of the 7er is better looking for me.

Facelift's cool. A nice car gets nicer. Oh... seen 'LCI' a few times now on the forum lately... What does it mean?? Soz but i been away from the forum for a bit..:)

It means the same. Life Cycle Impulse sort of is the 2010 way of saying facelift...

Configurator is online now:

Dream E92 - 320d x-drive:

Dream E92?? 320d? Hardly lol. Maybe the most rational choice, but if you like AWD and diesel so much, a 335xd would be a dream E92...

To me the 320xd is the worst possible choice for sure :D
But I have to say, I don't like the E92 LCI to begin with. They sort of ruined the car for me with the facelift. I still love the M3, and for the rest I'd go for an 1er coupé any day over a new 3er coupé

It gives you everything you need in daily use. 184 diesel hp, enough torque and traction for every weather condition! Who really needs more car? :usa7uh: Okay, the extra horsepower of a 330d would be nice, but would always choose the x-drive system.

Oh, I'm not saying that a 320d isn't more than enough for daily use, I'm just saying it isn't exactly the stuff of dreams :P

Okay, just for you my friend klier - the wet dream 3-series. :D

And well, I would kill for such a car, even if it is 35.000 € more expensive (you could buy a second 3-series for that money.) then my "dream" version. :D

Will become interesting when the updated Alpina B3 BiTurbo will arrive. According to m5board it will get 400 hp and 550 Nm of torque!
