M3/M4 Official: BMW M3 E92 Concept

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

I don't think this is old, I certainly have not seen it. All that covering on the steering wheel and over the shifter lead me to believe (along with NarutoRamen) that this is indeed DSG. If it was just SMG it would not need to be so visually safeguarded.

^ Why don't people just call it dual clutch/double clutch/twin clutch ?!
VAG/Audi did not invented it.
And for name of God, it was first used on some Citroen 60 years ago, not on VAG/Audi.
Cronologically

Citroen > Porsche > Audi > VW.

It's not DSG that is trademarked by VAG. This is BMW's ZSG and you will hear more about it at Frankfurt in September in a Concept Car but not the M3... yet...

So BMW will finally show the X6 Concept in Frankfurt.

NAIAS 2008 gets the production version then.

Rumours has it! March 22, engine details will be published.

Any truth in this?

BMW will follow same strategy as with M5 in 2004: show the Concept car at Auto Show, show the media Concept car on a track, present the engine details, release a car information, show a production version at the next Auto show.

So sometimes between Geneva & M3 press release in Juni / July, engine details will be revealed, and Concept car shown & driven on a track. ;)

And also there is notorious internet teaser still to come!

Regarding Frankurt Concept car: either X6, or M6 CSL - since I was hinted "6 will be a Concept star" in Frankfurt. My first reaction was: X6, but then I remembered Concept M6 CSL is also possible (since CSL is coming "sometimes after" 6er facelift which will occur in Fall 2007).

What would you like see in Frankfurt: X6 Concept, or M6 CSL Concpet? :eusa_thin

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
