The keyword for the 6er interior is harmony. And that word was not thought of when they designed the A8 interior, which appears to be drawn by 10 different people, all doing their own small part without checking with the other.
The 6er might have a lot going on inside the car, but everything flows and works together.

From around 1:01 to 1:03, you can really see how very driver oriented the screen is! Damn.





Every 2 door looks better than it's 4 door counterpart. Can't think of an exception really.

Not true for me actually. A lot of times I prefer the 4-Door to the 2-Door. For example: New E-Sedan >> New E-Coupe to me (maybe that's not fair, since it's really a C-Coupe though, lol).

I know there have to be more, but I'm too lazy to think hard right now.

Gran Coupe looks cool, but to me, it's too close to the F10, and I think the F10 with an M/Aero Pack, will give a close enough appeal to what the G.C would, and keep the Sedan presence intact as well.

6-er Coupe looks proper as it is though, with its 2-Doors. I think it'll look extremely elegant on the roads.

The sides of the 4-door Gran Coupe are way flatter compared to this. That's what makes this looks better.

Right, the E coupé is no E and does not count, but a C does indeed look better than the E coupé

I think that that will prove to be quite wrong once we see the 6er GC next to a normal 5er..

Harmony in the lines of the interior, yes. As shown in the concept/production dummy, it seems too busy to me. I think if a single color leather was used, it might strike my eye better.

Too many materials, also, but again, this may not be the production car. Leather and wood and metal are enough. It looks like a shiny plastic is being used around the controls and center stack, and forward on the console. Choosing wood or leather for this also instead of introducing yet another material would tone things down a bit.

From the very beginning the design model had this element, when you see the line along the lower flanks stop at the rear arch where the typical characterline runs through was where it broke. You can see how the line at the rear arch and the upperline match. Now they have gave it a more stepped look but more fluid without breaking the line.

Too bad Mercedes sort of hijacked this design element, so in the end it's probably better like it is now.

I liked the broken shoulder line, but I guess this way will be more appreciated in future where currently every single manufacturer is missing their side profiles with busy lines. Now being clean will standout where as in the past (Bangle era), the one who makes a bigger miss will be the talk of the town .
