GLA [Spyshots] Mercedes-Benz GLA

The Mercedes-Benz GLA is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV manufactured and marketed by Mercedes-Benz over two generations. It is essentially the SUV equivalent of the A-Class, and the smallest SUV marketed by the brand.

Well, the back really doesn't look good to me :(, I think the headlights are the main reason why, they are quite vulgar IMO.

this segment isnt proving to be needed in any market mainly the US where its targeted its just a jacked up A class

We (The US) are getting this right?

Yeah, but as this thing will almost cetainly sell like hot cakes in current compact SUV/crossover-obsessed Europe - probably eventually out-selling the A-Class within two years - Mercedes may need to get production for N.America off the ground quickly, with a piggy back on a Mexican Infiniti facility, with Rastatt/Kecskemet not being able to cover all global demand, or expand quickly enough.

Too bad they didn't differentiate the interior a bit more from the A and CLA.

I'm pretty sure this car will look fantastic. Just yesterday I saw BMW X1, and it looks very good indeed. GLA already looks better. When is the reveal of this car anyway?

Looks pretty darn good in profile, long hood, sleek glasshouse and Cayenne/Porsche like rear.

This is going to sell like hot cakes, no doubt(y)

The GLA is expected to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September and should arrive at Mercedes-Benz dealerships in early 2014, going against the likes of the Range Rover Evoque, BMW X1, Audi Q3 and MINI Countryman.

Hmmm, indeed, I forgot about the Evoque. There is no doubt GLA will sell in good numbers, probably better than X1 and Q3, but the Evoque... That will be the fiercest competitor.

I'm starting to really like this little thing, it looks so much better under the camo now than it did at first. Spring 2014 in the U.S. I'm betting.

Mercedes and BMW are KILLING it!

Promising proportions in these shots, contrary to what we have seen previously.

Dashboard is straight from the CLA and door panels from the A. Where they need to lift their game with all these new small benzes is the cheap transmission tunnel.

How can you say the X1 looks good ? It is one of the worst looking SUVs on the marker in my opinion ...

What is the point in arguing on taste? It's like arguing that Vanilla tast better than chocolate. If everyone liked the same thing, there would be one car brand.

Not sure I agree with this statement at all. Here in the US, the Evoque is around $50k (upper 40s to mid 50s), and much more than the X1. The GLA will likely be MUCH less expensive and priced below the GLK. (Much like the CLA is priced below the C-class) Here, it is not a volume model, which the GLA will most certainly be.
