GLE [Spyshots] 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe

The Mercedes-Benz GLE, formerly Mercedes-Benz M-Class (designated with the "ML" nomenclature), is a mid-size luxury SUV produced by the German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz since 1997. In terms of size, it is slotted in between the smaller GLC and the larger GLS, the latter with which it shares platforms.
Well I hear u Martinbo but I'm sure u agree on the flawless design and Presence maybe we'll have to await the market uptake on my other statement but from where i'm standing Mercedes have produced a winner here.

I'll be surprised if this thing sells more than 500 units a month in the U.S. It just isn't practical.

M

My prediction: It'll do alright for the first year in the US to the tune of about 4000-5000. After the first year, not so much. It'll be de rigeur in the Middle East and Russia.

Just based on this (very) rudimentary observation, the sloping of the roofline lends the GLE to have better headroom. But it's better to wait for actual sit-down observation and actual numbers.

The Porsche Macan is GORGEOUS. I checked it out last weekend and fell in love. And then I reviewed the price list and was horrified. $98K for a base model and $128K for the turbo. And then in typical Porsche fashion, everything is optional. That's highway robbery!

Macan vs GLE is like C vs E class. Pretty pointless. Macan is the perfect midsize SUV, though. Can't go wrong there..

And the Macan doesn't stand a chance against the new X6 M, performance wise. And probably not the GLE AMG either, but the engine needs a powerboost of around 50 hp (compared to the current ML AMG engine), and I'm sure it will get that to better rival the 575 hp X6 M..

Thanks

These crossover models are becomming difficult to keep track of :)

If one would remove the badge and the grille - there would be nothing, absolutely nothing, that would say to me this is Mercedes-Benz. It looks so generic, it could be from any car-maker.

But of course, it looks good (for its class), and it will sell very well. No question about it.

It is looking fantastic, makes the BMW X6 look ugly like it needs a quick facelift to catch up!

Two Mercedes GLE 63 AMG Coupes caught wearing minimal disguise

Mercedes is putting the finishing touches on the GLE 63 AMG Coupe as our spies have caught two more lightly camouflaged prototypes undergoing testing in Europe.

Set to tackle the BMW X6 M, the GLE 63 AMG Coupe follows in the footsteps of the Concept Coupe SUV and adopts an aggressive front fascia with a prominent grille that is flanked by sweepback headlights. The crossover also has a ventilated hood, plastic body cladding and side steps with metallic accents. The rear end will likely provoke love or hate it reactions but it features slender taillights, a tailgate-mounted spoiler and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.

Mercedes has been coy on specifications but the model is expected to use a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine. It currently produces 525 PS (386 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque but it could be upgraded to better compete with their Munich-based rivals.

Every time I see new pictures of this car it seems to look better and better. The X6 has met its match in the looks department with this car, possibly it's the best looking Mercedes SUV ever
