You are right. Weird gap. The main selling point of the cheaper model is range. I am curious as to how big the difference will be IRL:Surprised that the new base Macan will only be 3000 € cheaper than Macan 4.
All in all a fantastic proper looking, built and finished Porsche Macan that actually moves the game on in so many respects.
Easily a more compelling product than the Mercedes GLC and BMW X3.
This is a bit cruelI think it will sell well. Basically a Model Y with a Porsche badge. There will be plenty of SUV loving Porsche fans who will buy one instead of a Taycan.
I meant it on a positive senseThis is a bit cruel
Can you name a few?
I test drove a Macan 4 last Saturday and went to the dealership with my friend's Taycan 4S. While the Taycan felt more fun to drive, I think the Macan is by far the better choice for daily use! It’s just the more modern car—better tech (i.e. head up and infotainment), better usability, though not as sexy.
I’d get a Turbo if I had the money.
I test drove a Macan Turbo two weeks ago. I was impressed. My concern was it would feel quite a step back from my Taycan GTS, but it really feels like a premium SUV as opposed to an entry level one. It goes without saying the performance was incredible, faster on paper than my Taycan GTS. But it didn't necessarily feel like it. It wasn't explosive like the Taycan. It just builds and builds and doesn't stop. It had rear-axle steering optioned (it comes with PASM as standard), which turns more than the RAS on my Taycan.
Anyway, yesterday I placed an order for a Turbo, due to be built at the beginning of December.
