I know that my R129 felt a little unstable over 220km/hAlso off topic: Popped out roll over bar of the R129 saved the drivers life. High tech at its best

Carbon fibre says hi.don't like the black shiny plastic inner parts.
According to Mercedes, the platform is all new and different from the AMG GT, however I am sure they will use this on the next gen AMG GTNothing great or majestic about this so-called Mercedes-AMG SL. After the R231, it comes another massive letdown. It is just a Frankenstein design mash-up from the Mercedes-Benz parts bin. Something from the AMG GT, some bits from the CLS and A-Class, some S-Class / C-Class vibes inside, all of them a little elongated, trimmed or slightly resketched, and voila, there you have it: something only a mother would love. Or, Gorden Wagener (just about the same thing).
This SL is nothing more than a poshier AMG GT Cabriolet. So, nothing entirely new here.

The old S-Class Coupes and Convertibles weren´t huge sellers and even sold worse than the R231 SL, even when the R231 was 8-9 years old. There is more money to make in the sporty $100000+ than in the $200000+ higher end luxury segment. What I don´t understand: Why not going the way of that stunning concept convertible? That would have been a real hallmark
