GLC (X254) [Renders] 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC Gen 2

The Mercedes-Benz GLC (X254) is the second generation of the GLC compact luxury crossover SUV range. Body styles: X254 (5-door SUV), C254 (5-door coupé SUV). An "electric GLC" (X540) marketed as Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology joins the range in 2026. Production: 2022-
What a mania for Mercedes to make them all the same and boring, that concept of Will.i.am may be the best thing that happens to them in some time, at least it will be fun and different

One of Mercedes key model launches, the new GLC is highly anticipated. Probably going to look like a mini GLE.

GLE and GLC are both great looking to this day (except their interiors). This new GLC is shaping up very nicely!!

Not sure people will instantly fall in love with the design. My biggest issue with the design are the lights. I don't like how they connect to the grill in the top corner. It looks rather odd. Both the non-amg and amg line cars have this light design and it looks odd.

The non-amg grill is similar in design to the avantgarde version of the C, with the lower portion of the grill extended downwards. The amg-line grill looks kind odd in my opinion, but that could be due to the new light design. Inside the amg-line grill, it also ha the little mercedes stars like the C class amg-line.

The amg-line bumper is also something unique. it is inlike anything from mercedes and none of the renders have it correct. I don't hate it, but it feels rather busy and overstyled in some aspects. All of the renders I have seen are mising a bar between the rear lights. I do not think it is a light bar, but it is dark. Otherwise the rear lights and design look fine. Maybe the amg model bumper will look better. The headlights though, will take some getting used to.

I have my thoughts.. :
- the car will be longer. Why? If i want a bigger car, i’ll go for the GLE
- the side profile is going to be more extended, more EQC-ish, which isnt bad
- the bigest problem i see in the area of the c pillar with the shoulder line. Its too much DS7 in it

Off topic.
I dunno how is it possible that the DS brand still didn’t die. Here in Spain we see some of them very rarely driven by some „fachalecos” (a tasteless guy that his education ended up with writing and reading skills and voting the right parties nonetheless on their programm, basically without any idea about cars), but outside except of France the brand basically doesn’t exist. In Spain they do incredible discounts on them which makes the profit impossible. That can’t last long…

I think the difference is very visible, the GLC has softened lines and more balanced overall, the DS is more banal and trying to attract with chrome and more sharp lines. Almost like a mix of outtakes from Lexus and Opel design desks.

Still, I’m affraid Mercedes played too safe with the new 1.

amg-line. The deisgn issue with the lights connecting to the grill is my biggest gripe with the new design.
