Totallygetting rid of the iDrive controller was one of the dumbest decisions
That's what I thought, thanks for sharing, what else can you comment on in terms of impressions and sensations of the "first look"The i7 was there as well and i must say, the car looks way "sleeker" in real life than in pictures.
overall the car looked much better in person (was displayed like the launch version of the i7 with the cashmere interior). The interior really is next level even compared to an s-class (let alone the eqs). The front doesn't look as weird irl as in pictures but i don't like it. the car is extremely long, which i'm sure helps to make it look so sleek.Totally

Confirming expectations, thanks again.overall the car looked much better in person (was displayed like the launch version of the i7 with the cashmere interior). first impression was like: opulent, expensive, luxurious (and impossible to park anywhere here in the city).
Day 2 of BMW ownership not going so great (2023 X1)
I should add sorry for those asking. Parked car at family’s for Thanksgiving, half an hour later see the windshield wipers are sporadically going and that the rear lights are flashing. Everything is locked and non -responsive. Use manual key to get in, nothing responding on the inside. Call roadside assistance, they recommend charging/jumping which we try to no avail. They send the tow out who also tries to jump it with no luck. All wheels are locked and they drag it onto the flatbed. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Although the X1 is a brilliant SUV, there are still reasons to buy a GLA. Like the Evoque, the Merc looks cute and the rounded off design makes it look less like a family car.Against the new X1, the GLA's reign as our Premium Small SUV of the Year is under threat. The Mercedes has great technology and a spacious cabin, but the BMW is more refined, more fun to drive, more practical, and offers higher performance.

I always loved the Evoque in terms of design. My mom has one. It looks so cool. I don’t understand why people are hating it so much.
I meannn the real Range Rover is a different type of beast. It looks insane, especially the Sport. The ugliest models are probably the Discovery lineup. It's just a personal thing, don't worry about it too much lol
But I don't see the connection between an Evoque and real Range Rover.
The newest Evoque challanges GLA and X1 crap in design and interior quality, the ride quality is the same, as holiday’s renting car. Don’t expect crazyness in that price range.I always loved the Evoque in terms of design. My mom has one. It looks so cool. I don’t understand why people are hating it so much.
I actually love the way X1 and Tonale looks. Today I saw a green Tonale and it looked totally bonkers. The new X1 is also already selling like crazy in my city, already seen 5-6 of them (even though they started to sell them literally a month ago)The newest Evoque challanges GLA and X1 crap in design and interior quality, the ride quality is the same, as holiday’s renting car. Love the Evoque’s clean and elegant dash design. Here Merc and BMW are faith to their Oktoberfest aesthetics.
Outside it’s still better IMO and more minimalistic than the german cringe rides. It’s recognizible, where the the Germans are trying new recipe with each gen, searching for their luck, you recognize the brand and model by the badge only.
Evoque is not my cup of tea anyway, as all the small same looking little bulbs, Tonale, E-Pace included, but still I don’t get people buying GLA or X1, especially the previous X1 gen with its plasticky interior and that horrid 90’s minivan shape which you can still find at BMW’s dealers waiting to be sold until next year’s Halloween.
The GLA is hard to look at from any angle and the new X1 toyish as the XC40 or E-Pace, which both were clearly their aim
Small suv’s/minivan are giving cringe, especially seeing them mostly in base trim… X1 in here in Spain![]()
That's good, when iX1 comes out it will be something to pay attention toThe new X1 is also already selling like crazy in my city,
I agree it's super cool in IRLXC40 is also a great car actually, my friend had one. Looks great in real life.
I have seen a number of X1s and the car looks brilliant. Creases in the right places and looks chunky like an X5.I actually love the way X1 and Tonale looks. Can’t say the same with GLA though. It’s been on sale for few years now and I hardly see one on the roads.
XC40 is also a great car actually, my friend had one. Looks great in real life. Interior is not the craziest but it’s ok.
Evoque however is really a cool looking small SUV. I always loved the way it looks since it first came out in 2012. People always say they aren’t reliable cars but we haven’t had any problems with it whatsoever. Mum loves her Evoque dearly lol.
