B8 [Official] The New 2022 BMW ALPINA B8 Gran Coupé

The Alpina B8 GT, or Alpina B8, is a high-performance grand-tourer luxury car by German automobile manufacturer Alpina, which is based on the BMW 8 Series of the car manufacturer BMW. Official website: Alpina Automobiles
The next generation of Alpina's will likely all be based on the 45e hybrid powertrain. What happens after that... who knows, maybe they just focus in the Wine instead!

Maybe the next version (which will be the new B7) is based off the i7, and just skips the hybrid part.

Bovenseipen has already said that electric isn't right for their customer base at the moment citing autobahn performance as one of the main reasons. Whether electric is what the customer base want from the Alpina brand in general is up for debate.

Autobahn performance is important until there is no speed limit, but with eventual imposing of the 130 kmh things will change.

Which is the reason I was careful to include the words 'at the moment'. I'm sure Alpina realise that neither the market nor EV technology is stagnant, but where they are both at, at the moment, they recognise that they don't connect in a way that makes it the right choice for Alpina or their customers, in Alpina's opinion. I think it was in the same interview when Andreas indicated there was a time when Burkard was against Alpina SUV's... and now... there are 5 3 to choose from... so yeah, things will change, I'm sure - hopefully when the time is right, and not before.

5? Ah are you counting the X3/X4 B's as well as the X3/X4 D's?

The looks of the F06/M6 spoiled me to the point of leaving me as rapidly as thoroughly disinterested in the current 8er GC.

I like the Alpina grill it looks very classy with the chrome ribs, certainly better than the new M grills like on M3/M4. I am not a fan of the 8GC styling, especially the rear looks fussy but the front of the Alpina looks great.
