X1 [Official] The new 2022 BMW X1 and iX1

The BMW X1 is a line of cars produced by BMW since 2009. A subcompact luxury crossover class, the first-generation X1 was based on the E90 3 Series and offered rear-wheel drive layout as standard. The second-generation X1 marked the switch to a front-wheel-drive-based layout using the UKL2 platform shared with the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the Mini Countryman.
The ommision of the knob is a big disappointment.....it's inevitable that BMW will drop it on all models in Future
I don't think that will happen, the recently presented XM brings it, the 7, and as I remember some internal photo of the 5 shows it?

Guessing could it be that in these "cheaper" models and "for young touch generation" they took the opportunity to eliminate them due to the lack of chips?

The contradiction does not close me, that if it is in all the other models... but it may be a delusion of mine

They fixed well the odd Minivan proportions of the last gen. It has the best rear of their whole SUV lineup.

Still, together with all the GLA’s, X2’s and whatever it makes more profit to not going more downmarket IMO.

Here in Spain a base X1 with halogen lights makes the main brand image among other grocery rides.

I wonder how that ballsed up the iX1 so much when the got the i4 so right?? It looks good, drives really well and is very efficient, the only problem is the 12 month waiting list and they don't make it as a Touring!

This little SAV is currently an eye candy for BMW’s X Family/Lineup.

Superb looking inside out.

Too bad it apparently doesn't drive like a BMW at all, but is more like a 'lifestyle car', BMW's new image going forward. Numb steering and understeering. Yikes.

iX1 should be BMWs big seller. If this flops, I can't see how they will be successful in the EV era.

Not according to them:

"The X1 is one of the best-driving vehicles in its segment. Feelsome steering contributes to the X1's tossable and nimble character on the freeway or a winding road."

Pros

  • Smooth and powerful drivetrain
  • Stylish and well-equipped cabin
  • Excellent handling
