X1 [Official] The new 2022 BMW X1 and iX1

The BMW X1 is a line of cars produced by BMW since 2009. A subcompact luxury crossover class, the first-generation X1 was based on the E90 3 Series and offered rear-wheel drive layout as standard. The second-generation X1 marked the switch to a front-wheel-drive-based layout using the UKL2 platform shared with the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the Mini Countryman.

Dammit! Spectacular!

Really? I’d be interested as to why because I think they look rather good.

It's going to sound oddly specific, but I really don't like the way the vertical part of the '7' lighting elements run into the bottom of the head light. The LCI 3-er just about gets away with it, but aside from being a little nondescript anyway the '7's on the X1 look... odd - kind of unfinished.

Between soon 8 (!!) X models, the little X1 is by far the best looking. Who would have thought. This model has come a long, long way since the first generation.

Here's hoping the X1 design sets the trend for all the upcoming SAV models. Seems to be the case going by the X3 spy shots.

Thank you.

I thought it may be Frozen Pure Grey.

That could also be true indeed, it does look like it's matte upon closer inspection.
Well, it's either of those two.

That certainly is very specific. I didn't even notice it but then I don't have your eye for such detail.

They say that new BMWs resemble present day Skodas due to the Kaban effect. The new 5 as an example shares a similar outline to the current relatively new Octavia.

The problem that designwise they could be from the same segment.
I like the rear of the iX1, but the rest is cartoonish and looks downmarket. Still an improvement over the past gen.

The 21 inch wheels make the entire U11’s body looks grown and mature. Maybe the M35i variant is going to offered the 21 inch M alloy wheels as the largest and most expensive rims option for the M Performance model.

'The Kaban effect'
Is it a new virus?
What a laugh, all Kaban's Skodas, especially the SUVs, are conceptually based on the basic lines of the previous BMW "X's", what little memory...

Just the timing is not playing with your theory.

The new X1, facelifted 5er, X3, 2’er active tourer and XM, pretty new to influence Skoda’s design isn’t it? The previous SUV lineup had a way different design language.

If by resemble present day Skodas, you mean they both have 4 doors and 4 wheels, then sure, otherwise no. The outline of the Octavia is pretty different to the new 5 series, not to mention the proportions.
