Cayenne [Official] Porsche Cayenne (Third gen 2018-)

The Porsche Cayenne is a series of automobiles manufactured by Porsche since 2002. It is a luxury crossover SUV, and has been described as both a full-sized and a mid-sized vehicle.
This car is slowly growing on me. There is one thing I don't like though, for a car that cost this much, why does it still have gloss black plastic trim across the dashboard and the doors?

It's by far the best SUV at the moment, as is almost everything from Porsche nowadays, except maybe the Macan which is based on the old Q5 platform

For the past years it's been a brilliant do-it-all family car with competency on twisty roads. It's an utterly fantastic car if you can afford to spec it properly at 15-20% on top of the asking price AND stomach the very high fuel consumption.

I tried to spec one up with essential options like all the driving assist programs, keyless entry etc, actual interior trim ( those plastic trims are a disgrace), extended leather....ended up costing over $190k AUD BEFORE on road........that is about 30% more expensive than the Mercedes and BMW equivalent.

The new Cayenne is even more expensive to spec that the previous ones, as the fancy chassis options like electric anti rollbars and three chamber air suspension make the car special.

I forgot to add that despite the Cayenne's brilliance, it depreciates like, if not steeper, than other premium German cars.

It's a family car for a 1%.

Thankfully the air suspension is standard on the Cayenne S, along with Porsche active suspension management system.

Standard in Australia maybe. Cost option in some other countries (UK and Germany for one, and I would guess most other countries in the world), in which case it cannot be said to be "standard". It's just that certain markets choose to include it in the base price. You're still paying for it.

Thanks for the correction, yes the base price for the Cayenne S starts at $155k AUD, which is $10k more expensive than the GLE 43.

I just heard a rumor on the new GTS engine:

- all new 4L V8 naturally aspirated (not based on Turbo engine)
- 350 kw+
- will be used in other models

I hope it’s true...

Yep please. The last time they had that setup in a Cayenne GTS, it sounded amazing.

I'd take the Levante Trofeo over the Cayenne Turbo though, and yes I know the Maser is an inferior production engineering wise.
