The Porsche Cayenne is a series of automobiles manufactured by Porsche since 2002. It is a luxury crossover SUV, and has been described as both a full-sized and a mid-sized vehicle.
euhm no, that still looks million times better.

I know les goûts et les coleurs ne se discutent pas, but I really like the 5GT. The cayenne, not so much .

To be honest, the rearlights of the new Cayenne aren´t specially nice, as Rick´s pics sugest.

I'm glad to see you all people realizing how butt-ugly the new Cayenne really is. After seeing those IRL pics, I'd even dare to say Porsche managed to perform the impossible: make this Cayenne II even uglier than its porky fatty predecessor...

Hats down, was no easy task.:D

..................until you see the 3/4 view. Nice try anyways ;)

I fail to see the problem in that pic. It looks good there imo ;)

But for both the GT and Cayenne counts: you need the right color and rims, and it CAN look awkward in pictures.

I hated the Panny too in pics, and like the GT, it looks much better IRL in 3D. Same will probably count for this new Cayenne, because in some of those pics, a bar of soap looks more engaging!

I think the Cayenne II looks better thna the mk1 in the interior and the front, but the rear is not pretty, that´s for sure.

Today, I took some interior pics ... and next week I'll drive it :)

I'm not sure about the exterior, but the interior is gorgeous. We were there with a friends X6 50i and we liked the interior of the Mk. 2 Cayenne much more.

Trying to argue about which a$$ is nicer between the new Cayenne and 5'er GT is like arguing about who's hotter: Betty White or Cloris Leachman.

On a side note, not many things are as ugly as the 5'er GT, so regardless of the Cayenne's horrible posterior, if it were between the two on a desperate night, the Cayenne ain't the one I'd be kicking out of bed. ;)

I like the Cayenne II, the true sporty nature - especially the cockpit is stunning.

Don't wanna sound like a BMW fanboy - which I am:D...X5 still holds the title for best all-rounder of ALL SUV's;)

Porsche Cayenne Now Available with Efficient V6 Petrol and Diesel Engines

Stuttgart.
Starting deliveries of the two six-cylinder models Cayenne and Cayenne Diesel, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, is rounding off the market launch of the Company’s new generation of SUVs. Both models combine features typical of the Cayenne such as highly comfortable sportiness and superior offroad driving qualities with truly outstanding efficiency on average fuel consumption of less than 10 litres/100 kilometres or better than 28.3 mpg imp.

Equipped with Tiptronic S, the new Cayenne offers average fuel consumption in the New European Driving Cycle of just 9.9 ltr/100 km, equal to 28.5 mpg imp, about 20 per cent better than on the former model. On the Cayenne Diesel fuel consumption is also down by 20 per cent from 9.3 to 7.4 ltr/100 km, that is an improvement from 30.4 to 38.2 mpg imp.

A further important point is that the diesel, reducing CO2 emissions to 195 g/km, remains below the important limit of 200 grams CO2 per kilometre. And last but not least, both models comply in full with the Euro 5 emission standard.

The significant reduction of fuel consumption throughout the entire Cayenne model range comes, among other things, from the introduction of the new Tiptronic S eight-speed automatic transmission with Auto Start Stop and an extra-wide spread of gear ratios. Other factors are thermal management and recuperation of the on-board network as well as, not least, a significant reduction of weight thanks to intelligent lightweight engineering. These improvements also serve to provide even greater agility, performance and driving dynamics and, as a result, even greater driving pleasure.

The Cayenne is powered by a 300 hp (220 kW) 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine combined in standard trim with a six-speed manual gearbox. This accelerates the Cayenne from a standstill to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds (Tiptronic S: 7.8 seconds) and provides a top speed of 230 km/h or 143 mph.

The three-litre V6 power unit in the Cayenne Diesel delivers maximum output of 240 hp (176 kW), accelerating the car from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds. Top speed is 218 km/h or 135 mph.

The Cayenne Diesel comes as standard with eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission featuring an Auto Start Stop function.

The new Cayenne offers even greater driving pleasure than before both offroad and onroad, combined with even greater everyday driving value, comfort, and elegance. To give driver and passengers even more space within the interior, together with greater variability, wheelbase is up over the former models by 40 millimetres or 1.6”. The overall increase in length, on the other hand, is 48 millimetres or 1.9”. The rear seat bench adjusts to-and-fro by 160 millimetres or 6.3”, with the backrest angle adjusting on request to three different positions.

Further features included in the wide range of standard equipment on the six-cylinder Cayenne now comprise two-zone automatic air conditioning, cruise control, a Headlight Assistant, and the CDR-31 audio system operated from a touchscreen.

Both the Cayenne and the Cayenne Diesel now also come as standard on 18-inch wheels. New driver assistance systems such as a Lane Change Assistant and Adaptive Cruise Control are available as an option, just like the PDLS Porsche Dynamic Light System for variable management of the headlights in accordance with current requirements as well as the Burmester High-End Surround Sound System with 16 channels and 1,000 Watt maximum output.

Built to national specifications, the Cayenne sells in Germany at a price of Euro 55,431.– including 19 per cent value-added tax, the Cayenne Diesel comes at a price of Euro 59,596.–, again with VAT.

I didn't like the first Cayenne and I don't like this one either. I still looks like some sort of exotic frog from the front, and the Korean rear end is just plain boring.

I`m with you on this one. Interior looks better than the previous version though.

Why did Porsche opt for thumb shifters instead of paddles.

And on another sidenote, 5er GT looks better than the new W212.
:t-cheers:

On my factory tour to BMW Plant Rosslyn last week Wednesday I saw a 5er GT, if I had the money right now it will become my next BMW without ANY hesitation!;)

Back on topic: I must honestly admit that the Cayenne is also VERY high on my list, this cars interior is 100% perfect IMO:t-drive:

No ways both you guys have gone crazy!?? 5er GT is the ugliest BMW to EVER get produced. The W212 is streets ahead, and the regular 5er wipes the board with its design, when compared to the GT. I think you will see this in the resale values of the car. That rear end is beyond hideous. Come on Klier and Human, surely you are joking :t-hands:

JLBM, sorry to dissapoint bro. It is just that otherness and presence of the GT that really gets me going. I surely love the 5GT for no other reason than it's styling - in the same way I like the Porsche Panamera.
What I can ad is the fact that the W212 is a superb car, I love the front end and interior and also the fact that that is just how and E-class should look like EXCEPT the rear end! Merc used to make the best rear ends IMO....W212 rear end looks as if it has been designed by Lexus.:t-cheers:

LOL, let's get back on topic guys. I've seen the new Cayenne a couple of times now, and I must say that the weakest part, it's back, looks good with the lights turned on. Without having them on, it's rather plain..

Even though I'm getting one and actually love the look of the car now I have to agree with you on this one, it's a complete swap from the last ones which had an ugly front and a rather nice rear to now having a rather nice front and a less pleasant rear.

At least the inside is now the very best in the sector. :usa7uh:

Only ten and a half weeks to wait. :eusa_danc
