Cayenne [Official] Porsche Cayenne (Third gen 2018-)

The Porsche Cayenne is a series of automobiles manufactured by Porsche since 2002. It is a luxury crossover SUV, and has been described as both a full-sized and a mid-sized vehicle.
See, that black lower lip isn't working for me - I can understand the whole 'visually slimming down' thing but it's too much plastic, the proportions look thick and I can't shake the feeling that it was deliberately left there to extort money out of you as an expensive option for a more complete car look... and even then it still looks like a heavy rear.

Saw the car in Frankfurt and although it looks fine from the front, I think it's too subtle an evolution to stand out and the higher prices knock it completely off the table for me. Wasn't wowed by the interior either - the show cars were absolutely smeared with fingerprints, so maintaining the pristine cleanliness of the glossy bits will surely be a pain.

Meh. I'm sure it'll attract customers but it ain't for me.

Her is an article about some technical improvements made to the gearbox, suspension and other bits. This car is going to be epic and its handling will defy logic. Despite its conservatively I proved exterior I am not excited about it and will test drive it when available.

I wasn't that excited about this new Cayenne based on the very conservative styling either, however it really seems like Porsche has done some interesting things on the performance front. I too will take one for a spin when they arrive in the states. Turbo or wait for the GTS? Decisions, decisions......

Going by the early reviews, it is clear that Porsche has sweated the shite out of the engineering/details and they've produced a winner in every way except looks. Do you know how heartbreaking that is? The Levante by comparison is a hobbled together mess engineering wise, but it kills the Porsche in looks.

I am hoping it looks better in the metal.

Yupp. It might currently be one of the best cars in the world. It has god like handling, is practical, highly capable off-road and offers serene comfort. As you said, it’s a shame the exterior isn’t a home run. However I think this is the type of car that has you signing the dotted line immediately after the first test drive. I look forward to driving it when it hits the showroom floors.

It doesn't. I spend a long time in Frankfurt examining the car and it doesn't look good. The Levante and the new X5 (based on Palbay's great spyshot) kill it in terms of looks. But to each his own.

It's more of a cat you learn to love than fall in love with at first sight. Hopefully the Lamborghini Urus will make up for the not-so-beautiful Q7, Bentyga and Cayenne.

First Drive: 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo
Porsche once again resets the performance SUV bar

2019 Porsche Cayenn Turbo First Drive Review | Automobile Magazine

I dunno, the more read about it's sheer competence the more I like it. It also doesn't look as bad in this review either.

I wonder why they're sending mostly V8 Turbos to the press instead of the bread-and-butter regular Cayennes.

There are reviews of the V6 too.

Just about every car manufacture kicks off reviews by sending journalists top spec versions. When the first reviews of the G30 5-Series were published, they were of 6 cylinder versions with adaptive suspension, rear wheel steering and active stabilizers. All of which completely transform the car from average to exceptional but won't be specced on your average 520d sitting on a dealer lot.

The new Cayenne is also a spec diva and will handle differently depending on the number of technical chassis aids the car has.
