Cayenne [Official] Porsche Cayenne (Third gen 2018-)

The Porsche Cayenne is a series of automobiles manufactured by Porsche since 2002. It is a luxury crossover SUV, and has been described as both a full-sized and a mid-sized vehicle.
It's a shame they didn't test pedestrian emergency braking at higher speeds.

Looking at footage of the side impact collision, I'm so pleased side impact airbags were invented.

So, Porsche Netherlands held a launch party for the new Cayenne yesterday (Porsche Amsterdam actually), and I was invited.

Here are the pics. Interior and rear are pretty nice, and the front is plain ugly. Enjoy:

How is the interior quality and the ambiance, does it feel like an expensive car inside?

Quality is excellent, design is decent. But it feels empty from the inside, if that makes sense. The lack of any buttons seemed to be the biggest complaint to the crowd. I heard everyone moaning about that. I think the current X5 feels more expensive from the inside to be honest, and the next X5 is going to one up this in every possible way.

Btw, they upgraded the infotainment system to the point where the new Panny feels old already. Tech is flying.

I also scrutinized the Cayenne, lately, and came to a partly different conclusion, surprisingly. In my opinion, interior and exterior quality were absolutely sub-par, judging by the price point and the brand standard set by the Panamera. Many details are very cheap and incoherent (most strikingly from the 2nd row backwards, luggage cover is nothing but a joke). Some aspects made me wonder how responsible product managers could miss certain points. Take, for instance, the daytime running lights on the S (I did not check with the other versions): there is a part number or something, imprinted very prominently on the upper side of it. I call that a rookie mistake.

You could very well be right; I only sat in the front and everything was pretty nice over there.

After driving the previous gen Cayenne and being surprisingly impressed by it....now I am very interested in this new one, even though it looks just as undesirable.

Hahah whaaat ???
Ive driven this and its the same damn display with the same damn UI and the same damn everything.
One thing is for sure that the interior on the cayenne cant hold a candle against the panamera design and quality wise. But then again the cayenne is a cheaper car.

I've been to the official introduction of the new Cayenne, I I have seen it myself. The new Cayenne has newer tech on board, and the CEO of Porsche Netherlands was keen to point it out during the presentation.

So stop your stupid laugh. Same UI obviously. More options and maybe faster hardware behind it. The Panamera is old if we let the chips talk.

Yeah, the front is even worse sadly.

More options ? What options ?
Hardware is faster ? Lol ok what is the diff..
Cause I’ve spent time in both like half a day I didn’t pick up anything.
So either come with facts or your talking out your ass.. as usual.

" ... your [sic] talking out your ass ... ". I don't find that tone appropriate, sorry. And, to say the least, @klier's rationale is not a whit more 'rectal' than yours ("I heard that info at the official presentation ..." vs. "I've spent time in both ...").
God, feels like kindergarten at times.

And, by the way, the info is correct, and it's the usual procedure. New model gets updated HMI, sometimes even new processor. In some sub-menus, the Panny is/was (I guess there has been an update already) really slow (zooming in, for instance) ... no matter if it fits your narrative or not. And yes, I've spent time in both, too.

Kiler and LaArtist have a long running love hate relationship going, I don't think it is going to change anytime soon.

Lol wtf? Did you drop out of your plane or did you eat your cigar?
FYI, what is updated, and what I was referring to, is purely technical. Below the surface. Because tech moves fast these days. Comprende?

Still don’t think There is a component difference more the version of the os which has already been updated in the -18 panameras so all should be the same.

Is he hitting on us @klier ?

He seems kinda hot let’s give him a shot.
