The W214 is actually the better looking car IMO.

214 is great indeed.
But, to be honest, the "old" diamond grill is more three-dimensional and dignifide whilst the star pattern version is "brutally" - besides the outer line, which was with 213 so perfect......

This is an interesting drag race with the Audi RS6 Performance (630PS) vs the new AMG E53 E T-model (612PS or should be 585PS?)

The Mercedes lost the drag race but it was not far off, it seems to have really good pull from start but then loses to the Audi in the higher speed range, possibly due to the heavier weight and less power/torque.

It would have been more interesting to see a race with a standard 600PS RS6 vs this E53 then i think it would be neck and neck.

Black/dark colours shows off the tail lights very well.

They should redeem themselves for the c63 f#ck up and shock with a v8. This beautiful E class deserves a cold ass AMG model. I hope they don’t fumble it.

E63 was cancelled under the previous AMG boss. If the new Schiebe has approved a new E63, it will probably be with or after the facelift

I think AMG are in an embarrassing situation with the C 63, but at least the CLE53 has gained some positive reviews with its inline 6. They need to bounce back with a V8 in the FL C63, E63 and CLE63.

If they want outright bury BMW's new M5, they should do a pure ICE V8 E63. Wide body, the works and 700hp. It would be a so much lighter than the M5 and absolutely kill it on the track and in a straight line.

The motor is durable enough for a lot more than 700. I think 685PS is probably good enough. They could do it. Will they though?

Given Mercedes is worried about hitting its CO2 targets this year alone, we’re probably not going to see an ICE 63 model unless their EV sales take off with this next round of post-EQ models.

CO2 targets are becoming more stringent and taxation on ”high emission” cars is going up. Hybrids will be the way forward for most Performance cars. Even if you can bring to market an ICE V8 car today, you might have to re-engineer it in 2-3 years time. Alternatively not sell it in Europe or the UK.

Lets be realistic here, Mercedes AMG would not release the W214 E63 without the E-Performance P3 pack. Thing is they seem to be getting better with each release. Keep the M177 Bi-Turbo V8 mated with the 9-speed wet clutch to keep weight down and performance up, add the extra bracing of the E53 and boost the hp to 816 like that of the SL63 E, and you would most likely have a very fast, good performing crown topper in the E-Class. It would look the part as well.

I dunno what's gonna happen, but if they make an E63, I expect it to arrive with the facelift.

Probably will be hybrid.
For the pure combustion option, they might do a more thorough refresh of the GT-4 door (which they should rename to avoid confusion)

Not in the states (the biggest market for BMW M). It'll be cheaper in soon sure, but only in the used market. G80s hold their values insanely well, G90 is going to tank and fall right below them.
