E-Class W214 [Official] New Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W214)


The sixth generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class executive car is a lineup consisting of three body styles, the W214 sedan, S214 estate, and the X214 all terrain estate, which are vehicles produced by German luxury vehicle manufacturer Mercedes-Benz Group since 2 May 2023.

if anyone is aware I would like to know the sales in Europe, in the first half of 2024 of the new E class compared to the BMW 5 series
 
The new E is very pricey in the USA. I’ll be curious to see sales at year end. I mean 80K for a 4-cylinder E350 is ridiculous.

You could do that with the W213. A 4-cylinder E350 with a few options still comes in under $68k.

True, but the key word there is "could". I don't remember seeing them on the lots at that price. The new E350s on the dealer lot here are all high 70s and low 80K range.

They must be very high spec, cause it starts from like $60k no? And it's $6k extra to get the M256. If I had the money for a new one I would 100% would pay that difference.

Mercedes pricing is out of control. We would now pay close to AUD$140K for an E350 (equipped), which has a 4 cylinder engine.

With the W213, $140K was buying you a highly equipped 6 cylinder towards the end of it's life cycle here.

There thankfully is a level of build, finish and technology on the W214 that is much better than the W213 in my opinion.
 
Re colouring, anyone saw this velvet brown in flash? Looking at E53 estate with double night package with blackened 21 rims (no Im not football player:)) but can find color that goes with iy and I dont want white or this alpine. Thanks!
 
The E53 is very close to visual perfection. Wish the headlights and taillights would be a little more elegant/refined looking and it'd be perfect.

Absolutely STUNNING configuration.
This is a lovely spec, its elegantly sporty (perfect wolf in sheeps clothing spec) without been aggressive. It is the opposite of the new M5 which is OTT for aggressive look.

Interesting is that i5 unit sales are approx. 48% of those of the ICE/Hybrid 5ers. EQE sales equate to some 30+% of those of the ICE/Hybrid E-Class. Hence, the i5 is proportionately as well as terms of total numbers more successful than the EQE. This should be no surprise and M-B decision makers will need to give the EQE a serious rethink.

I agree.
The weird thing is that the US is not an EV favorable market, however I have seen almost as many i5s as I have seen a regular 5 series. The EQ series is much rarer in the wild.

Quite a good review, he had very positive things to say about the way the car drove, suspension, ride comfort and low noise levels. Quite interesting about the marketing he said Mercedes mainly talks about the screen but instead should talk about the cars excellent road manners.

I like how he showed underneath the car, amazing how smooth the undercarriage is and even the suspension arms are covered in plastic cladding to improve the air flow.

Keep on saying it. This car is a class act. Finally befitting it's mid line spacing between the C and S. It's been too much C for too long.
 
So the substance is there is what I’m getting from the informed press. I think that he’s right about Mercedes needing to go back to talking about the substance and less about some stupid app in the screen. This type of mesg is coming from all angles it seems. Will they listen? All the E needs now is some high end switchgear for everyday functions so you don’t need the screens to operate basic things. The W222 had it just right. Now is the time to return to that. The E’s chassis seems to be one of Mercedes’ best ever at the ride and handling compromise.
