Even though I'm apparently on your "ignore user" list, I'm not petty so will happily respond to you. It's the reversing camera. This is how BMW install their reversing cameras, bizarrely. It does get quite dirty on my 330e, and on all the other BMWs I've had with reversing cameras. They're rarely hidden in the flip-out badge.
