Like there new Range Rover, the 7er looks straight from a concept workshop.

Can't wait to see it IRL

Nor do the real M cars, today or at any point in the past to my knowledge. Looks like BMW likes to advertize the xDrive technology on entry level models and versions, but perhaps thinks it isn't worth it on high-end versions (M and M Performance) because it would divert the attention away from another badge on the rear fascia that is (or ought to be) much more iconic: the model's name in M lettering with the M logo.

Different story with the i7's eDrive badge that needs to be insistently showcased nowadays...

Looks like I was wrong on this one: 2WD BMWi models are indeed badged eDrive, while 4WD BMWi models default back to being badged xDrive

Same man, exactly like a car from the future that wasn't supposed to come in 2022 but at 2026,dont want to baffle the S-Class but its to generic and simple and too predictable.

I have a cars related IG,and these are the votes i got for a comparison between the 7-Series and the S-Class
Spoiler:its not a BMW fanpage?

I’m really disgusted by BMW and their decisions nowadays. Having the most fragmentated lineup in their history, with no design language. That’s exactly the point where it makes me really difficult to appreciate their new attempts.

But…

I think I have to say that I find the 7-Series the best German luxury sedan out now.
It took me some time to get to that point.

The S-Class is the most classy and obvious choice for classical luxury vehicle, but it is a recipe from past decade.
Also what bothers me is its weak appearance on the road, it has nothing to do with the mighty W222 which was rulling the segment for years. The W223 fits visually between an E-Class and S. The front looks so uninspiring compared to W222. All that makes it an easier run for BMW to push the 7er closer.

BMW took the risk to build a tank aiming to look like 1. The bold and flat surfaces work really well ending up with the upright front that has a strong statement, where the W223 definitely lacks.
There is still a lot they could have done better or just don’t touch it where it’s not needed (excess of chrome and that desperate decorative mess BMW is abusing so much).
Overall, I think it’s the best luxury sedan from Germany and the strongest appearance since the E65.

So they just changed shape and location from right to left...

That's what I was referring to when the W223 was introduced, it kept the formula of its predecessor, which although super successful and indisputably beautiful, I referred to it as very "safe" and that surely for that reason it could become "very seen" adding the years of the W222, and that it would be susceptible to being overshadowed by a new challenging competitor that hits the key in many aspects, as is the case with the G70, which is more striking and risky.

I initially liked the cabin but now I'm having second thoughts as it looks dramatically busier than the cabin of the new Range Rover. Bold design is great but visually there's a lot going on in the cabin that lacks a focus, and lack anywhere to rest your eyes.

Range Rover interiors are nowadays a masterpiece. I cannot imagine there so much acrylic plastic as we see in the 7er, or so bad integrated multimedia screens.

Yet it’s a welcome change in BMW interiors. They were clueless and bussy since they’ve lost the plot after Bangle’s designs. So removing the tacky crystals and patternfilia we have still the best BMW interior up to date.
