A6/S6/RS6 Official: New Audi A6 (C7)

Audi has just lost the plot with the A6. Interior is brilliant, but exterior is a mess. Old rear, new front, A4 side profile. OH well.

I think this is my new favorite car in its class, at least in standard trim. Looks very sexy inside and out. I want one! :usa7uh:

Yeah, I'm surprised at the inconsistency with it. Props to them for sticking to an evolutionary and clean design.... But why mis-mash it with such an over-tried, and way too gimmicky front? Seems like they wanted to stick with their careful approach, but the bean-counters said "YOU BETTER MAKE SOMETHING CRAZY ON IT!! PEOPLE WANT CRAZY!!. Lol.

In my opinion an Audi doesn't suit red and the A6 continues with that opinion. Wait until you doubters see it in dakota grey, then you might change that opinion.

Also, those circular fog lights looks out of place with the more angular looking front. The Sportsline wheels look exactly the same as the ones on the RS4, which is now 6 years old.

Sometimes I wonder what were their thought processes before selecting the worst colors to present the car in the show. Solid red just doesn't work at all, it hides all the lines and surface details. I have never ever seen a solid red A6 in my life, and maybe one or two metallic red A6.

Heaven knows what thought process happens when picking a colour to show a car and at times Audi don't think at all, remember the chrome rims from the past.

Ferrari suit red, everything else should stay well clear in my opinion.

I know what you mean every time I see an A8 in gold or a brown A7 being displayed it makes hurl.

Stunning. As far as styling goes, best in class; inside and out.

Would I be right to assume that opinion is changing to become more favourable to the A6 design. Maybe Audi knew exactly what was needed to be done after all.

It's got fancy new headlights, hand-me-down tail lights and front wheels closer to the bumper. The rest of it is so repetitively recognisable one has to ask if any real exterior design progress was made at all? Nice car all the same though...

While all around them feel the need to re-invent their design language with almost every model there is certain air of confidence about Audi feeling that minor evolution to it's exterior styling was all that was required.

Talking with the Porsche dealer about what I got for the S4 when finalising the deal on the Cayenne he expressed the opinion that Audi in the UK at least can do no wrong, in fact to use his exact words 'Audi is so popular at the moment that they could put 4 rings on a turd and it would sell like hot cakes', maybe a bit of sour grapes but I understood what he meant.

Yeah, it's looking better and better. Only thing I don't like is the glasshouse and overall side view, which way too much like previous gen.
Also, the HUD looks like a 2004 BMW HUD. Totally not integrated.... I am surprized to see it though, didn't know it was available.

Still, F10 5er owns the segment.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
