A6/S6/RS6 Official: New Audi A6 (C7)

For me, the one thing that I didn't like about the C6 A6 that I drove - it was a 3.0 TDi quattro pre-facelift - was the brittle front suspension. Primary ride comfort and body control were fine - no qualms there - but higher frequency road imperfections made the secondary ride quality poor for such a premium product. Of all the things about the A6 - this is the one thing I'd want them to sort out the most.

Was that car equipped with the sports chassis?

The press release says 1575 kg for the A6 2.0 TDI, excluding driver.

So 1575 kg + 68 kg + 7 kg + 90% fuel tank 65 kg = around 1715 kg. That's more like the real world EU weight, and not some VAG happy world number. Very similar to the F10 5er, in other words.

The Audi figures include the fuel so it's only the 75KG that needs to be added which means it's 65KG lighter.

I love the new C7.... I want one!!!!!
Ah, so fcking good looking and the interior is all A7 and
that is what I adore about it! Awsomeness ..... !

:usa7uh: Thanks Audi for making a pround Audi enthusiast even more proud!
What a product! :t-drive:

I think we all agree that each brand are different to driving, one may prefer a Merc, another a BMW and someone else the Audi. Each brand needs to major on what they do best but also improve on those elements which they are let down on.

No not really. I'm not comparing it to MB, BMW or any other manufacturer. I'm just saying that the the car was too nose-heavy. Making a tight turn was not so great and required more attention than necessary.

In UK, the 520d is 1,715 kgs and in Germany it is 1,695 kgs. Does UK cars have more equipment as standard (while the UK car is considerably cheaper (€33,200 vs €40,350))?

I think you didn't understand me right, I simply included all three brands to highlight that all of them have their strengths and weaknesses, what they need to do is major on these strengths, in the case of Audi that means don't let their standards drop with regards to build quality and materials used while continuing their unique styling and improve on their weaknesses which are their nose heavy feel and ride quality, two things which in my opinion have continued to improve throught the introduction of the MLP platform and will continue to improve with the combination of torque vectoring.

Hope this helps explain it better. :usa7uh:

Most likely, but I am sure the weight quoted for the A6 is universal as it's what we have here too. :usa7uh:

I really think that Audi has the most beautiful interior design of this segment right now. The steering wheel, the dials, are the most avantgard of the three big germans, something I miss in the MBs and in the BMWs, which are too conservative in some areas of the interior design.

I think only Porsche produces interiors as nice as the Audi´s ones.

Avantgarde ? they certainly are more woreked out and complex than the other two but what is avantgarde about them ?

They are the most modern to me. BMW´s interiors are the most elegant, I quite like them. Mercedes ones are the thw worst looking to me nowadays, they are not the most elegants, nor the sportiest ones, they ain´t know what to be.

The new CLS is one Merc interior that actually looks the part, but it's in a minority because all the rest are too square and upright in appearance. BMW interiors are OK in my mind but for me at least they are too stripped back and basic for my liking. I like my gadgets too much to get excited about a BMW interior.

I don´t like the 4 spoke steering wheel, but the black/alu combo is always my fav choice.

Looking at this car again this morning... I still love it. It's now my favorite in this class - I can't wait to see the Avant.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
