GLB [Official] Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class

The Mercedes-Benz GLB (model code X247) is a crossover SUV produced by Mercedes-Benz. The GLB is positioned between the GLA and the larger GLC in size, however unlike these vehicles the GLB is equipped with optional third row seating due to better space distribution.
MBUSA posted this pic from the LA Auto Show. :)

"Two’s a crowd, but three’s a party. Explore the additional 3rd row option in the Mercedes-Benz GLB SUV and have yourself a ball."

Saw my first GLB today. Here's a GLB250 4Matic with AMG Line trim, Offroad Technology Package and Night Package at the MB dealer in Munich.

Some quick thoughts!

It does look very nice in person, and it does look like a fun-to-drive little SUV. Interior is familiar from the A/B/CLA-Class and that's not a bad thing at all.

Visually it looks about the same size as the current GLC, but inside it feels so much more upscale and MORE SPACIOUS. The GLC - to me - is cramped up front. The GLB feels very roomy and spacious.

Some pics! :)

Hi mate @cawimmer430 how do you mean more upscale then a GLC?

And if you do not need the 7 seat option do you find the front and middle row more spacious to sit then a GLC?

It's going to be a breakout hit. U.S. dealers should have them sometime next month in time for the end of the year sales race.

The interior of the GLB feels more upscale than the GLC in terms of materials. Also, I find the design of the GLC cabin quite "outdated" in appearance and the facelifted version has a weakly "updated" cabin. :)

And like I said, up front the GLB feels and is roomier than the GLC. The GLC has a wrap-around type of interior and a somewhat wide center console - that takes up valuable space. Those are not issues in the GLB. In the rear I found the GLB to be equally roomier than the GLC. The transmission tunnel on this 4Matic-equipped GLB250 for example hardly protrudes outward from the floor, freeing up valuable foot space. :)

Thank you very intresting I look forward to see the GLB in person. I always liked the GLC so will be intresting to compare nice to read your opinion that the build quality is better in GLB that's a good sign.

Contrary to my expectation as an entry level SUV, the suspension is not fidgety or busy. In the reviews I have come across there are no cons over the GLB except for the lack of AWD in lesser models.

The GLCs advantage is 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder engine which I suspect account for a small minority of sales.

There are many, many of us that use Mini Vans or small SUV's to compete in dog show contests. We presently have a Ford Explorer, but the mpg is on the low scale for the distances we drive, however it can hold two wire crates in the third seat area and still carry two rear seat passengers. However, a few inches can make a huge difference. I wish manufacturers would publish more specifications for what the cargo area dimensions are.

The GLB I reckon is going to be the biggest seller in the Mercedes compact range. It is the best allrounder, with the space and versatility of a B-class with addition of a 7 seater option, the high riding position of a SUV and upright and manly styling like a mini G wagon plus the stylish, modern and great build quality interior of it's more conventional young at heart A-class models.

I think the timing is perfect and the segment to which it is aimed is mature and asked for this (without knowing it), that "mini GLS" appearance and the story of the 7 seats, will penetrate deeply in the head of many, is almost a reinvent from an existing category, it apparently has to be a hit.

What I don't understand is that the designer has to do with the press test drives and the Off-Road capabilities of the vehicle :pompous:

It's more trendy with the dash, so maybe that's what he means. It's significantly narrower than the GLC. Trust me, the 2020 GLC is more upscale and more comfortable.

You guys are going to be buried in new product during 2020 man lol. What is the interest in the GLB at your store?

Ok now is the difficult question. The GLB or the new GLA, which is your choice.?

Me personally I would go for the GLB. I like its looks better as well as the 7seater practically and bigger boot.
