Centre armrest with lots of features

All rear seat variants have a folding centre armrest in common. Their comfort attributes include:

• An illuminated stowage compartment
• A USB port
• An integral touchscreen (optional extra)
• Wireless charging of the mobile phone (optional extra)
• Heated pad (optional extra)
• As an extended centre console a cup holder with temperature control on request

In addition to this the rear compartment meets requirements for use as a workspace and relaxation area. For instance, the occupants can, on request, control certain car and COMAND functions from the rear – either via a touchscreen display permanently integrated into the centre armrest or with a corresponding app via tablet or smartphone.

Honestly once the air is out of the air vents it will just spread across the interior, so having 2 zone rear air con isn't as effective as it seems.

I have tried Audi A6, BMW 5-series and Lexus GS. I have ordered an MB E220d, as the competitors are clearly behind the E-class as a whole package. Especially the interior in the MB feels much more luxurious than the competitors. In particular the BMW felt dated compared to the competition.

Looks good. Which color did you choose interior and exterior? Build your car on the mercedes.de configurator and post a picture of interior/exterior

IMO these are the essentials for the new E:

-Dual 12,3' screens

The E is presented as an extremely advanced technological vehicle, and to skip on these options is a mistake.

Just spotted an E400 in NYC on my lunch break. I saw it as I was waiting to cross the street, the front LED DRLs were immediately noticeable then when it when by I saw the E400 moniker, maybe the US will get it after all?
