It didn't feel luxurious enough. I walked away with the impression that all the new technology - which is very exciting by the way - was meant to distract us from the fact that the inside isn't as wow as i would expect from an E class. There's only so long that the new dash and digital instruments etc will provide a thrill. In the longer run its got to be the feeling of having a really top end experience when you sink into the seats or when you pull away from the kerb. Wasn't feeling it I'm afraidWhere did it fall short of expectations?
I guess that's really it - after all the press noise about the interiors , I went in expecting a real step up from previous E-Class. I did actually go in "locked and ready to buy" as my current E Class is ready for a change, even willing to buy a diesel (!) but couldn't pull the trigger. I'm going to let this sink in before I make any decisionsRespect your opinion but I don't understand how more luxurious the E can be. The previous E wasn't that luxurious ether and there is no way E can match the luxury of an S class. The new E is luxurious enough for its class and all the journalists were deeply wowed by the interior fit and finish and quality.
That's what I thought when I first seen it, but if my memory serves me right, they all use the same supplier for their respective systems. So I think we might see the iPad in the back come S-Class' facelift time.why the hell did they put that ipad in the back? this is the bad influence of BMW, its like a really shitty friend giving you bad ideas![]()
If I'm not mistaken, I believe BMW uses a Samsung Android tablet.

All rear seat variants have a folding centre armrest in common. Their comfort attributes include:

For instance, the occupants can, on request, control certain car and COMAND functions from the rear – either via a touchscreen display permanently integrated into the centre armrest or with a corresponding app via tablet or smartphone.
- An illuminated stowage compartment
- A USB port
- An integral touchscreen (optional extra)
- Wireless charging of the mobile phone (optional extra)

Honestly once the air is out of the air vents it will just spread across the interior, so having 2 zone rear air con isn't as effective as it seems.1 zone rear climate...When every other rival car has 2 zone.
I have tried Audi A6, BMW 5-series and Lexus GS. I have ordered an MB E220d, as the competitors are clearly behind the E-class as a whole package. Especially the interior in the MB feels much more luxurious than the competitors. In particular the BMW felt dated compared to the competition.
^ Often the same, Monster, as MB's suppliers also operate in China. A few items may be sourced from Germany, though.
