E-Class (W213) [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213

The W213 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the fifth generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, sold from 2016 as a 2017 model. It succeeded the W212/S212 E-Class models. The coupe/convertible models share the same platform as the sedan/wagon, in contrast to the previous generation. The high-performance Mercedes-AMG E63 and E63S versions of the W213 have been available as well from 2016 (as a 2017 model), and these are the only versions with V8 engines.
Are the Chinese-assembled Mercedes cars made from complete-knockdown kits shipped over from Germany?

BBAC produces the E, Wunderkind, with Sindelfingen as the lead plant, and help from the new R&D center. :)

BBAC also receives support for its local production from the respective lead plant. In this way, Mercedes-Benz ensures that top quality is guaranteed at all of its production locations and customers around the world benefit from its high standards.

Elbows and hands can be further delighted with optional extras such as a heated armrest surface, wireless device charging capability, a touchscreen.... http://blog.caranddriver.com/e-longated-new-mercedes-benz-e-class-gets-lwb-version-for-china/

rear seat heating option

Thanks for the info Wolf. Does it have 4-Zone Climate Control?

^ Maybe. There's a new climate system in the pipeline for the E and S, starting in 2017. But might not be necessary, as Monster explained above. :)

Looks good. Which color did you choose interior and exterior? Build your car on the mercedes.de configurator and post a picture of interior/exterior:)

IMO these are the essentials for the new E:
-Driver assistance plus package
-Multibeam LED/ILS
-Command online
-Dual 12,3' screens

The E is presented as an extremely advanced technological vehicle, and to skip on these options is a mistake.

Saw my first one in the wild. Still doing some final testing since it had a MI manufacturer's plate. First glance I thought it was a C, until he had his turn signals on.

1 zone rear climate...(n) When every other rival car has 2 zone.
The 2 zone rear AC wont provide much of a change in interior temperature compared to a 1 zone AC set up unless the left and right side were totally physically isolated (physical barrier between left and right side) cause currently the air from each vent (front and back) will be mixed up in the interior of the car anyway, so eventually some uniform temperature will be reached inside the cabin.

Just spotted an E400 in NYC on my lunch break. I saw it as I was waiting to cross the street, the front LED DRLs were immediately noticeable then when it when by I saw the E400 moniker, maybe the US will get it after all?

I hope so. There gap between the E300 and E43 is too large, 241hp to 396hp. The E400 would be perfect for most E buyers who don't want a 4-cylinder or the much sportier E43.

I'm a norwegian, and here we have very high taxes on cars, so the price on the car's prie will be a good €84000, with the options alone at €35000.

I am from Norway too, and yeah - it really sucks that cars are so expensive in Norway.
But - that is the price we pay to be the "Best country to live in, according to U.N."

If we ask the middle or low class, they would rather have a job, a country with stable economy with good social benefits, rather than cheap petrol and cheap Mercs :)

^ you can have it both ways with your oil money funds. Hundreds of billions of Euros, if not trillions. Don't be a sheep, and demand lower car prices.

There are valid reasons for not using too much of the oil fund.
Also - this oil fund is called "the pension fund", it is there to cover the pension cost of the current working generation as decline in child birth will in a couple of decades result in more people on pension, and less working and paying tax. there is a plan here which people only interested in there own pockets cant see.

Oh don't worry, it won't be just the first glace. You'll think this on your second, third, fourth, etc glance too

I have asked the local dealer to set me up for a test drive for 2-3 hours. Will have to wait a couple of weeks until the rush cools down, and then be able to test the car thouroughly.
But basically the S class and C class has already shown us everything the E is trying to show us now.
