M3/M4 Official: BMW M3 E92 Concept

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

Yes, and in high end cars the ceiling and dash sometimes are completely suede

I've yet to see suede on the dash, but the head liner is the only way to go!:usa7uh:

Re: Officiall: BMW M3 E92 Concept

I believe I saw a Lambo Gallardo with full suede interior from the Geneva show....let me try to find it.

Re: Officiall: BMW M3 E92 Concept

FINAL VERDICT:

OK, now that I've had a few days to digest the photos I came to the conclusion that I've pretty much dissapointed.

One of my favorite things about BMW is the attention to design details, especially how the design line all come together. But the details on this concept don't live up to my expectations.

So I really hope BMW fixes the details when the release the production version. :eusa_pray

Hehe, I like the sound of that... the car you are talking about is the one seen today or yesterday? The one with other rims than the ones on the concept? I was wondering if that was not shot as Geneva...

So I was right...in the other vid they were backing up another M3 with different rims and I said that, that is probably the production version they're going to show the dealers...Woohoo!!! I'm catching on!! Now if only I can get a job with BMW! :D

Re: Officiall: BMW M3 E92 Concept

The most notable changes include the alcantara steering wheel with the red & blue stitching reminiscent of the one in the classic E30 M3 EVO, the bucket seats, the carbofibre trim and the aluminium pedals. Before you get excited or disappointed, let us state that this isn’t the final production version and that BMW hasn’t officially released any photos of the concept’s interior.

Yeah I don't know why everyone is talking about how they're dissapointed with the interior before the Production interior has even been shown. I think the only reason BMW allowed people a look inside the car was so they can see what kind of transmission it had. That is a pre-production interior...just look at it, it hasn't even been cleaned. Wait until the announcement people; stop jumping the gun.

there is a reason why all windows are tinted so dark. Becuase its not meant to be shown for the public.

Re: Officiall: BMW M3 E92 Concept

There is no point in bitching about the interior becasue it is 99% certain that it will have the same interior as the ordinary E92, except for the tranmission and a few buttons off course. So it will only be a matter of specing the interior to your choice just like with any other bimmer.

Exactly. When the actual car is shown the interior will look much better, I'm not saying that it will be different but rather cleaned up a bit. :t-cheers:

Re: Officiall: BMW M3 E92 Concept

Anyone have the EVO magazine article? Can someone please post some scans? It is probably all just rumors but it makes for fun reading.

Re: Officiall: BMW M3 E92 Concept

OK guys, decided I had to come back to post my comments of the M3 concept!

Well, when I first saw the pics on WCF, the first picture I saw was of the front of the car and was thinking, OMG that looks super hot. Looked exactly as I thought it would after seeing all the spy pictures. Although when going through the other pictures, I started doubting I initial thoughts, the back looked way over done (personally I hate tuned car in general) and the mirrors looked far too complex, when they could stay the same as the normal mirrors on the E92, the bulge looked too much, basically the M3 had lost it's menicing stance while still looking looking good parked outside a nice hotel, if you get what I mean. I was really disappointed.

It wasn't till I looked on here and saw the IRL photos, that everything started to make sence, the car looks sensational. I must keep reminding myself that BMW press photos don't always make the best of the car. Plus those videos of the car during launch, well the engine sounds awesome, not quite Ferrari nice but still very very nice!

I can't wait till september when we'll see the true car, not an M3 with some CSL styling clues!!

PS, the topic on if the car would feature leather as standand or not, I know a few people who wouldn't buy the car if it had leather, so I'm sure they would get a few more customers making this decision. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but in very hot countries, doesn't leather crack, seem to remember people in Dubai complaining that their leather dashboards on the M5s where cracking, or would crack but they were standard in those regions sothey didn't have a choice.

So to some up, I'd give this car 9.5 out of 10, can't wait for the real thing to be shown, sure my score will go up a bit then, be the car will be toned down a bit!

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
