5 Series (G30/G31/G38) [Official] BMW 5-Series (G30)

The BMW G30/G31/G38 is the seventh generation of the 5 Series. Officially announced in October 2016, sales began in February 2017. Production years: November 2016-2023. Body styles included: 4-door sedan/saloon (G30), 5-door wagon/estate (G31), and 4-door long-wheelbase saloon (G38).
I see two versions of the headlights, one with full "intelligent" LED headlights with flowing LED graphics while the other version has the older style LED rings around the lights, and normal light bulb for the indicators. Does the cheaper headlights have LED low and high beams too?

What is known is that the standard equipment version comes with standard, entry-level LED front lights. The high-end Adaptive LED system might be reserved solely (as an option) for the range-topping versions starting with the Sport Line. On the M550i xDrive the BMW Adaptive LED lights could be offered as standard.

As I have said several times already how spectacular I think this design is already, I will say what I an reading many others said on the internet:

This is the real E39 replacement.

And quite likely the first BMW in my family since we sold the E39.

Two things would have beautifully completed the design, a one piece Hofmeister kinck

and these tactile/glass like buttons on the steering wheel.

@Busty Do you know if this steering wheel was really considered in an early interior version or is it only a sketch fanatsy ?

one of my favourite BMW sedans of all - the safe yet still progressive (and lovely!) E39. To my mind, the E39 is BMW's W124.
I agree with you fully, the E39 is in my opinion the finest 5-series of all time. Its styling has timeless elegance and yet in M-sport guise its proportions result in the perfect sports saloon shape. Then the interior, sumptuous and supremely comfortable seats and outstanding solidity and build quality, with modern looking controls and this combined with superb refinement and handling and roadholding that rivals many smaller cars make it near perfect.

LED light and Navigation System Business come for all types as a regular equipment as specified on the German Homepage.

Going against the main stream here, but I'd prefer the non-AMG pack. The blue 530d a few posts ago, looks really, really good. Picture that exterior in black, some decent 19" rims and black nappaleather with luxury trim inside... Brings back memories to the time I used to drive my 530d. I feel good vibes here...

I assume you meant M-package?

I prefer also the non-M-variants. Therefore I would also take a M550i in an Excellence variant (when available like at the M760Li).

Unless I missed something, it's interesting to note that we now have a M550i X Drive and no M550d XDrive, which is opposite situation to previous generation. It puts BMW on the same pattern as Audi (S / RS with petrol) and Mercedes (E43, future E63, only petrol AMG).

We'll probably see a M550d with the quad turbo inline-6 within the year.

Bit disappointed that there's no M550i RWD this a clear sign that the M5 will come in AWD configuration or it would be left in the mercy of the M550i xDrive. Giving the M5 an option of RWD and AWD will give it an advantage over the competition.

Back then it was a beauty but now it has aged IMO

Sidenote, I lost my driver license for 3 months back in year 2000 because of speeding in 5er E39 but that's a different story :D
