GLE [Official] 2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class (W166)

The Mercedes-Benz GLE, formerly Mercedes-Benz M-Class (designated with the "ML" nomenclature), is a mid-size luxury SUV produced by the German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz since 1997. In terms of size, it is slotted in between the smaller GLC and the larger GLS, the latter with which it shares platforms.
Looking great. Seems like this is the E as a SUV kinda thing. Love the interior, and the silhouette looks really good. And I actually love the front, it's very elegant and not "in your face".

Agreed. It looks very Brother-to-the-W212. It basically looks like the E-Class in SUV form.

Yeah, that's a safe yet attractive package right there. With this new generation the ML will remain one of my favourite multi-role SUVs.

Just some things that I've noticed from the initial pictures:

1. No LEDs in the headlamps; a bit odd considering both the SLK and C have them.
2. COMAND system has added two new buttons, a solid filled star and an empty star. Copy/Paste maybe??
3. The two off-road knobs are raised in the close up picture, yet seem flush with the console in the interior picture. Perhaps it's just the low quality scans, perhaps not. I'm thinking they rise out of the console like the Jag XF...
4. Door trim emulates the CLS, nice...

I think this new ML has been brought much more in line with the current lineup than the last one has, and it really does look like an SUV version of the E.

We got cited on Autoblog. :D

We haven't seen or heard much about the upcoming 2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class, but that changes effective immediately. Euro mag Motor-Talk apparently got their hands on some brochure photos of the newly refreshed ute well before the good folks at Daimler were ready to release the pics to the public.

The above photo shows that the rear end will receive a new rear fascia, with flatter, more Mercedes-esque taillamps and a revised bumper. The M-Class also looks set to ditch the traditional moonroof in favor of a panoramic topper. More grainy imagery, which is available on the German Car Forum, shows a more aggressive front fascia and newly stylized headlamps. And perhaps the most pronounced changes will come to the cabin of the mid-size crossover, with a far more modern appearance that includes what appear to be richer materials.

We're not entirely sure when the next M-Class will receive it's official debut, but judging from these alleged brochure pics, we're guessing he reveal will come sooner rather than later. Head over to the German Car Forum to see the rest of the leaked brochure pics.

Wow, inside and out, this looks really good. It's masculine and timeless. Can't wait to see higher res pics of this.

One thing I noticed, the seat controls are finally on the door, as it should be on a proper M-B.

The front looks much cleaner, especially the front bumper, which clears up the jumble of shapes on the current 350. The amount of chrome on the bumpers and the aggressive grill and wheels make this look extremely sporty for something not-AMG; my only criticism is that on the side view, the back of the car looks a little awkward and chunky.

Interior is AMAZING as typical of what we are getting from Mercedes these days.

My thoughts exactly!

You guys don't think this is the AMG, or at least sport version? I have a hard time believing this is the standard trim of the ML...

We have nothing that suggests that its the amg pack. I'm going to wait for the official pics tomorrow to make a final judgement. It's impossible for the ML not to have leds... even the A-Class seems to have them.

No no...It's definetely the AMG sport version, but not the big AMG version.

The standard trim will look something along the lines of this:

It's clearly the "AMG Sport Package", or in other words "Sport Package", but obviously it's not the actual AMG 63 model.

look good...a proper down to earth MB design, hope it is reliable and handle well. It will sell like a hot cake!
