GLE [Official] 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG

The Mercedes-Benz GLE, formerly Mercedes-Benz M-Class (designated with the "ML" nomenclature), is a mid-size luxury SUV produced by the German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz since 1997. In terms of size, it is slotted in between the smaller GLC and the larger GLS, the latter with which it shares platforms.
So that you would be able to complain about AMG only "raising hp war"?

Why in the world would I complain about that? Sheesh!

Sky, I thought we were talking about the car? Or do you want to talk about the design specifically? Because design wise, it looks a hell of a lot better than the Cayenne, just to name a brand new German SUV in this class.

I dunno, a lot of ppl complain of amg taking care only of power, when allegedly they should focus on lightweight, gearbox and whatever else

^^^ Clearly those people are misinformed to say the least. Mercedes has been doing more with handling since 2008 and gearboxes more recently.

I'm not saying a power upgrade shouldn't exist, I am perfectly fine with them. Lot's of brands do this all the time. I am just saying that in this particular case here, 550 hp should have been standard on the ML 63, and a power package should have been added to the 550 hp number.

Maybe M-B don't care about engaging in a Horsepower war (words they've already said themselves). At this point, catastrophic HP numbers become more Marketing tactics than anything else (hence the arguments ensuing on this very Board, by BMW fans liking the number on their favorite cars better). In real life, I'm sure AMG doesn't feel that 500 HP will ever be considered lagging or slow.

If they would have to choose, then yes I would prefer lightweight instead of more hp. But I see no reason not to do both. Which MB already does as Merc stated...

Whatever happened to this -

It looked like a burly SUV, but somehow the finished product ended up looking more mini vanish.

Right now, I think AMG pack looks more like a SUV than the real AMG.

^E65 7er sold well, BMW sold shit load of previous X3, I will bet good money the new 1er will sell well. But they are all also ******* ugly (imo). Sales is not proof of anything.

I would never buy the F20 with the looks it has now....although that rumored M135i with 320 hp sounds freaking crazy nice :( :)

And the G is a gem that should never ever be taken out of production. It's ridiculous how awesome this car is, in AMG guise in particular.
G Lang = eternal love

And as for this new ML63...I can't get over the dull lifeless looks of the headlights, sorry. The rest looks sharp sadly.

The ML, current and previous, are only good looking when not being compared to rivals. On it's own, its a pretty nice vehicle. Against competitors, it's like they just said "f__k it, let's play this safe and get it out there."

Don't get me wrong, I understand where you are coming from: and I too agree those BMWs where and still are ugly.
But my point is, that although an ugly car can sell 'well' it sure cannot be the sales leader in the market, which is the
case for the M-Class!!! And that is living proof that that is why the M-Class looks good!

To propose that there is "proof" for something as subjective as looks on it self is ridiculous. On top of that to argue "sales" is that proof takes it to a whole new level. I will just leave it at that.

People buy a certain car because of a wide range of reasons, it is not solely based on the exterior styling of the car. Now please get back on topic

Hmm guys I had a lot of customers that told how much they like their SUV's because they are so ugly in a cute way. People do understand they drive an ugly car just many of them love ugly cars ;) I have few ugly cars on my wish list too and they are beautiful for me in a strange way but I do understand they are far from being beautiful :)
