Re: Fifth Gear reviews S65 AMG.

That woman is extremely annoying.

Cool car though.

Re: Fifth Gear reviews S65 AMG.

Already posted in the S65 AMG Cont'd Thread 2 but I guess it makes sense to have a separate thread for the vid...

Re: Fifth Gear reviews S65 AMG.

Lol, I think that's the worst Fifth Gear I've ever watched...:eusa_doh: :t-crazy2:

At least they did some doughnuts :D

Re: Fifth Gear reviews S65 AMG.

I highly doubt it broke down. I think with all the doughnuts he was doing, and the traction control kicking in, the ECU intervined and shut off the engine because it was probably close over heating and brakes getting too hot. But I could be wrong.

Re: Fifth Gear reviews S65 AMG.

it happen the same thing in another test when they were driving on a track. After some laps the car didnt want to be driven anylonger.

Re: Fifth Gear reviews S65 AMG.

Awesome car!
It seems like that the engine broke down but there isn't alot of smoke coming out of the hood or anything leaking underneath or something like that. It could be an emergency system that is switched on due to overheating or something like that.
Anyway, it was a good watch but I had hoped there was more to the review.

Re: Fifth Gear reviews S65 AMG.

Good eye Alwing.. It could have been an overheat issue.

Re: Fifth Gear reviews S65 AMG.

^^Looks like you guys missed my post about what *could* have gone wrong...LOL

Good theory. The review was pretty weak but it was till entertaining. I highly doubt that many people could handle such a car. First of all it is very dangerous. Just floor it and it will keep on accelerating until you take your foot of the pedal, no wonder Lindsay Lohan crashed her SL65:D. Lastly soft suspension in combination with a monsterous engine will make you completley speed blind and staying within legal speed limits will be very difficult........and even impossible for people like me. :D

Re: Fifth Gear reviews S65 AMG.

Whack review indeed. The fact that Vick is hott, still stands.

The guy made an interesting point, the S65 is not a sports car, however deceiving the AMG badge and performance figures may seem (now of course we know this, but the world probably doesn't). Instead the S65 is an answer to an absurd question only those quirky German AMG engineers asked, "vwhat zif zwe make der uber S klasse?!?!?! - Only the filthy rich will answer, and they have, with their checkbooks.

Re: Fifth Gear reviews S65 AMG.

yeah luw S classes are stupid in that way..i had the W220 and drove the W221..totall lack of speed sensation.. you had to be on your toes..as in the start when you didnt know the car..you would come up on traffic real close before you understood.. DAMN!! gotta brake..
i personally love that feeling..haha.. its just such effortlessness.. feel like the car says.. here i am doing what you all are doing without breaking a sweat..and if i flex my muscles.. you all would just silently dissapear..
very bizzare feeling..
now if this was a S65 i dont know what the feeling would have been..maybe i would die of joy?? who knows:D

Re: Fifth Gear reviews S65 AMG.

I find that all Mercedes' are like that, heck German cars are like that in general. Speed is always deceptive and masked and you glance down at the speedo and realize you're way over what you thought. Mercedes are only more so because of their luxury slant (quiet, smooth). Even my mere CLK430 can shoot to 120 mph and it feels like I'm doing 80 or so.

Re: Fifth Gear reviews S65 AMG.

M5 Is one scary car too, you feel like driving 100km/h but instead the speed shows 200km/h. so its not strange that people lose their driving license :D
