X3/X4 Facelifted X3: official pics & info!

The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3.

has anyone noticed that BMW steering wheel is getting more and more ugly. The one on the X3 won't look out of place in an early 1990s BMW.
Not really, I still think it's one of the highlights of the interior.

This car looks ok, definitely better than before. Interior quality seems to have improved so that's definitely one of the problems fixed. Overall, still the weak link of BMW, but having said that, I'd still take this over the R class.

The updated X3 is a good looking car now. Everyone's suddenly biased against the X3, which is totally inappropriate (since it's the best driving SUV/SAV in the whole wide world...)

It depends on your definition of "best driving". Some say that while it handles well (for a SUV) it's way too uncomfortable for everyday use.

This should become a passé with a facelift since the dumper setting has been tuned for more comfortable ride, while not compromising great handling.

I suppose most SUV buyers don't really care about handling - otherwise they wouldn't be buying SUVs now would they...

The design might be less awkward than before but it's still nowhere near to being attractive, IMO of course.

That's great news. And along with the interior update , two of the major issues of the X3 will be solved.

I must say this view does appeal to me.

Even better news about the 6er - I've wanted my dad to buy one for ages.

Dare I say I like it!

Guys, you may know that I've disliked the X3 with every fiber in my body since its introduction. But now? They done did it! They put so much lipstick on this pig it actually manages to pass itself off.

In particular, the sculpting of the front bumper creates a new, lower line in your head that suggests much more girth and power than the original - which had as much grunt and brawn in its mug as a Suzuki Grand Vitara.

I never had an issue with the rear lights, but what's not to love about those LED tubes. The rear looks cleaner than before and appears gives off a premium look that's fitting to the price tag.

I didn't think they could wrangle a good look out of the X3 but they managed to do so. Even the interior looks up to snuff, and the new steering wheel looks great. Very surprised that they'd do this before the launch of the new X5. Seems counterintuitive.

Really, I'm kind of surprised. The reason I don't mind the FL is because I never hated the X3. Just out of curiosity, what did you not like about the old one? From what I can tell, people didn't like the bumper (kind of fixed), headlights (not fixed), rear lights (not fixed, same shape) and bad quality (fixed?)

Just an update on some info

Like announced, the facelift arrives of the BMW X3. And the greater innovationes are to level of motor. It arrives 3.0i from the 272 horses (6 cylinders online, benzine) and above all it arrives on 3.0sd a power-step of the 6 cylinders bi-turbodiesel sequenziale from three liters: it is passed to 286 horses, with one the maximum brace of 580 Nm (+14 cv/+20 Nm regarding the 535d). The 2.5i arrives also from 218 horses, while they remain invariati the other motors (2.0d from 150 cv, 3.0d from 218 cv and 2.0i from 150 cv).
Externally they change the floodlights and the posterior lights and the bumpers are paint to you in the color of the auto body. Inner they change many things: the plancia, flying, the consul, the seats and coverings.
Remarkable the performances of the versions top: the 3.0sd it boasts a 240 speed max of km/h and an acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 6,6 second ones, while the 3.0i it catches up the 232 km/h and it accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7,2 second ones. Perhaps the first BMW in which the model of tip it is a diesel engine, is like price that like performances. Found all the details on the X3 new in the press-release (pdf).

Prime offender was the X3's front end, which led the eye in all the wrong places. It looked fussy, static and diminutive, giving off an impression similar to an older Honda CRV. The way the X3's new bumper has been styled is very sharp, drawing the center of attnetion lower, making the whole package look more substantial.

The front lights haven't changed, but they've been given new context by the "jowels" that extend downwards to form the X3's new "mouth." All this makes so much sense you wonder why they didn't do this in the first place. All the phoney rugged-tech-fussiness is gone, replaced with very BMW'like details.

Also, very minute touches like the steering wheel, running boards and rear lights elevate the level of percieved quality to where it should be at this price point. I wouldn't feel like a chump if I got in one of these.

I always thought there was potential in the X3, and I never disliked the vehicle from the rear or rear 3/4. I always thought the mug was a lost cause, but they did a great job patching it up.

Some great shots & in-motion movies included.

I just gotta say that I never liked the X3, especially in the fron. And this still doesn't look good.

So the X3 can be bought with a manual gear box. Didn't know that.
The X5 with 3 liters could be bought with manual as well. I think they aren't going to give this option anymore though.

Oh really didn't know that either. Is BMW the only manufacturer offering manual as an option for SUVs?
